Ch.3 New Neighbors

Dan's P.O.V

As Phil and I walked back to our apartment I couldn't help but think about those girls. I liked them both but Mandy stood out to me,she was so shy at first but still kind and sweet,and once we actually started talking,I realized she was funny and smart and incredibly fun to be around,not to mention a total nerd like me! Oh my God,I think I like Mandy. Before I could think anymore about my insane crush on Mandy,Phil pulled me out of my thoughts "what are you thinking about?" he asked curiously, I shrugged "I was just thinking of those girls" I admitted "same,Val was so cute!" he practically squealed with delight "oohh does Philly have a cruusshh?" I teased,poking his arm "oh shut up" he said. I just kept poking him "that's a yes!" Phil just rolled his eyes "what about you, huh? I saw the way you looked at Mandy,you obviously like her" he observed "maybe I do" I admitted, Phil smiled as we got to our apartment door. I kid you not, we were standing there for 10 minutes while Phil dug through the black hole he calls a bag,looking for his keys since I was an idiot and left mine inside. Suddenly I heard 2 voices talking and laughing, I turned only to find that it was Mandy and Val, looking back at me and Phil in surprise. I smiled joyfully "hey girls!" I called and they came over toward us. "Hey guys!" Val said and Phil shot up at the sound of her voice "oh hey! what are you two doing here?" he asked nervously. "We just moved into the apartment over there" Mandy said,pointing to the door across from mine and Phil's. "Really? That's awesome! Hey,you you girls wanna come in and hang out for a bit?" I asked,hopefully. Mandy and Val looked at each other as if communicating telepathically then turned back to me and Phil "sure!" they said in sync. "Great! Now if I can find my key" Phil said, the girls just laughed and Mandy pulled a card out of her wallet,sliding it into the door and making it open. I facepalmed "why didn't we think of that?" I asked Phil,who looked extremely annoyed with himself. "'Cause we're just awesome like that Val laughed, Mandy just smile, rolling her eyes "yeah that and Val loses everything so I always have a card with me in case we have a door crisis" she explained. I laughed "well now that we've solved our 'door crisis', thank you Mandy" I smiled as she bowed playfully and opened the door "ladies first" I said,letting the girls in before Phil and I. "Why thank you,Dan" Mandy said,my heard skipping a beat as she smiled kindly while she passed. As I closed the door behind me and Phil, I couldn't help but think 'maybe I have a chance'.

Mandy's P.O.V

We hung out at Dan and Phil's for a few hours just talking and playing Mario Kart "OH YEAH!! I WON AGAIN!!" I cheered. "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!" Dan nearly screamed and the rest of us burst out laughing "I warned you" Val told Dan "she's the best at this,you have no chance at beating Mandy" Dan sighed in defeat "okay okay I give" he raised his hands in surrender and I laughed,checking the time on my phone. "Holy crap,is it really 10:30 already?" I asked in surprise and Val pouted "aw does that mean we have to go?" I nodded sadly "unfortunately yes" I said,getting up from my place beside Dan who had his arm comfortably around me. The boys both walked Val and I to the door,Dan opening it for us and whispered in my ear "text me" I nodded,looking over to Phil and Val who seemed to have been  hugging for a long time and I smiled "okay love birds! Time to go!" I teased and they pulled apart. After saying our final good nights, Val and I left,heading back to our own apartment across the hall.
