Stiles' POV
I sat talking with Scott, Malia and Kira on my bed. We were talking about school when the door opened. "Oh great." I sighed.
"Hey Stiles. Stiles' friends." My sister greeted them. "What do you want Katie?" I grunted. "You promised you'd go up in the loft tonight." She reminded me as she threw her bag down. "I'm busy. Can't you see?" I grunted. "Stiles, You promised." She whined. "I'm busy, go away."

Katie scoffed. "Come on, Stiles." I stood up and flailed my arms around. "Why is it so important to you anyway? It's just a jewellery box that's been in the loft for ten years!" She folded her arms. "Because it was moms!" She shouted back.

"Mom wouldn't want you wearing her jewellery." I scowled.
"How would you know what Mom would want?" She fought back.
"God, you know everything was fine till you showed up! We were happy and then you were born and everything went wrong!" I shouted, tears pricked her eyes but I was mad. "What are you saying, Stiles?" She whimpered.

"It's your fault that Moms dead!" She stopped dead in her tracks, as tears streamed down her cheeks. "Katie, I'm sorry. I didn't.." I didn't know what to say, She rose her hand to her face and wiped her tears. "Maybe things went wrong when I was born. But I was there with you when she hated us. When she thought we were trying to kill us! Every time she tied our leg to the bed because she thought we would attack her! Every time she-" She didn't finish her sentence. "Every time she ran out onto the middle of the road and we had to persuade her to come back inside. Every freaking time." She was sobbing now, and the realisation of what I had said killed me. "I didn't kill Mom, Stiles. I tried to save her." She walked out slamming the door behind me.

I sat down on my bed next to Malia. "I really messed up this time." I scoffed, tears trickling down my face.

~One Year Later And Katie Was A Freshman At Beacon Hills High~

She was wearing a tight maroon skirt and a creamy white jumper with maroon heels. She was beautiful, but my sister and I's relationship had never been the same ever since I had told her those fatal words.  "It's your fault that moms dead." She had started dating the captain of Devenford preps lacrosse team, and hung around with people from that school. She had asked my dad multiple times if she could transfer but he stayed stubborn. She was happy and barely even talked to me anymore. Only when she had to.

She sat on the bleachers off from the pitch watching the game, although she sat on the opposite side. As she waited I saw Brett walk out onto the pitch and she grinned widely. "Hey Babe." Brett grinned as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss. "Have a great game." It had been like this for almost a year and now that she was at high school I was worrying she was mixing with the wrong crowd. After playing the game, she waited for Brett to get on the coach and kissed him good bye. Then walked over to the jeep. I unlocked it as she shuffled into the back with Malia, Scott and Liam sitting next to them. Lydia and I sat in the front. "How was your day?" I asked her, she was glued to a book she was reading. "Fine." She mumbled. "Wanna get some pizza?" I asked her.
"Brett's taking me out. Celebratory meal for Devenford Prep." She answered bluntly.
"No." She looked up. "I'm sorry, what?" She snarled. "You aren't going out with him you can spend some time with me." Lydia gave me a look which I knew all too well. "Since when did you have control over my life?" She snapped.
"I'm your brother, what I say goes. Goes. So no more Brett!" I shouted.
"Your such an ass hole." My sister got out of the jeep and started walking across the car park. Brett followed behind. "Where are you going?" He asked.
"I'm gonna walk it." She mumbled.
"What's going on Babe?" He asked.
"Stiles doesn't want me dating you." He looked at the jeep and I looked at him, exhausted.
"Listen, I love you, Okay? But I don't want to get in between you and your brothers relationship." He took her hands.
"I'm sorry." He kissed her gently on the forehead before walking away. He slumped down in his seat and wiped a tear from under his eyes. The bus drove off and left my jeep and my sister in the middle of the car park. I got out of the car and walked up to her. "You okay?" She turned around and wrapped her arms around me, sobbing. "What happened?" I asked, "He ended things with me." She sobbed. It started to rain but we stayed like this for a few minutes and then we walked to the jeep.

She got into the back and I into the front. She had mascara stained sleeves but he held one up to cover her mouth and sat silently. "For What is worth Katie, I'm sorry." I whispered.

"I know." She replied.
