I realized I was dozing off slowly as I looked out the small window that revealed the lovely blue sky. Realizing I would surely fall asleep if didn't find something to occupy myself, I took out my shoulder bag and began to search through it for a good book that I had packed. Robin Hood, read it twice; The Hunger games, three times; Narnia, saw the movies twice and read the whole book more times than I cared to count.
I had nothing to read! I glanced over at the small magazine table between the girl next to me and I, I saw that there was a Twilight book sitting on it, just waiting to be read. My eyes twinkled as I hadn't read it yet, and several of my friends said that it was rather good. I reached down and touched the cover, but then I saw that the girl next to me was also holding onto the book.
"Oh!" I exclaimed, seeing that it was the girl's book and not just lying around,
"I'm sorry. I thought it was just out for reading."
"Oh no," she said with a kind, pure smile, her pale lips standing out, and she quickly handed the book to me, "I've read it five times, you can read it." Her warm, brown eyes, almost hidden by her big, stylish teal frames embellished flowers, glimmered as she smiled, and I smiled back at her with gratitude.
"Thank you.Thank you very much. I've been wanting to read this forever." I flipped through it and then back to the first page.
"Don't mention it." The girl's voice was so small compared to mine. I could tell she was a bit shy. With her nose in a book, I was guessing she was locked deep in a story of some sort, so I began to read and left her alone.
A few hours passed, and I had already read the book through, being the fast reader I was. I began to study the girl next to me. Her pale skin gave me the idea that she didn't get out much, and the fact that she had already read three books twice the size of the one that I had read, made me suspect that she was a book worm. She really was beautiful. The way her hair was curled into little brown ringlets that tumbled down the side of her face, and stopped just barely below her shoulders. It could be seen as unruly, but she pulled it off amazingly. Her navy pants and black top that she wore gave her such a smart look that I thought she must be from a rich family like mine.
"Ahem." I coughed, trying to get her attention without being rude,"Here's your book."
"Oh! thank you." she took the book from my hand and set the one she was currently reading down on the magazine table. I noticed that it was a math book. And not just a math book, but a super, ultra, advanced math book with equations that I don't even know how to explain.
"Whoa." I didn't really mean to stare, but it was kinda hard considering it looked like some math language.
"Yeah. insane, I know." the girl said, staring at the page with me,"But once you learn the proper formula to solve it, it really is easy."
"I couldn't learn that if my life depended on it!" We both giggled and smiled at the page, but more at my stupidity.
"I don't have a choice. I'm starting a new school on a scholarship and I have to make sure I keep my grades up."
"I'm flying to a new school too! Girls from all around the world are going to be there."
"Lady Isabellas' Academy For Cultured Women?" she hit it right on the nose!
"Yeah! That's it."
"That's where I'm going!" her voice was so happy, I couldn't help but be excited.
"Wow! I guess will be classmates then. I'm Rachel Adams. First year. You?"
"Lauren. Lauren Kathleen Michaels. First year. Pleased to meet you." she stuck out her hand and I shook it happily, somehow feeling a little better that I wouldn't have to go to this new school alone.
