'So...' I awkwardly type into the chat.
'Umm...' a guy named 'Dave Strider' types back.
'It's just us.'
'I know. Where did everybody go?'
'Pfft. Who knows?' I reply, 'I think everybody had to go... to various places.'
'Haha. The irony that you name yourself Jade Harley and you *don't* know where everybody went.'
'And the irony that you mention the word irony when your name is in fact Dave Strider!' I type back, trying to hold back laughs at all the irony.
'Oh man. The irony...' he replies.
'So what brings you here?' I ask.
'A friend spammed my Skype to get on here. You?'
'I follow Deadlox on Wattpad. I saw the link and thought why not?'
'Fair enough.' He replies.
I sit there for a while just smiling to myself. For the first time ever, have I finally met a boy who will actually talk to me? I look to the bottom right hand corner of my screen, it's 1:30am. Crud. I should be asleep.
'Whoops.' I type into the chat, 'I just realised it's getting pretty late.'
'Realised?' he types back.
I mentally facepalm at the mistake I just made. Now he knows everything!
'*realized' I quickly correct myself.
'No wait, wait, wait... you're from England?' he asks.
'Yes...' I answer disappointedly.
'That's sick!' he responds, 'You got Skype?'
'Yep. What's your Skype name?' I ask.
'DKthekid123' he types into the chat.
I open up Skype and immediately search for his name, and sure enough I found him. I send him a contact request no questions asked.
'LOL. DK? Donkey Kong?' I joke.
'No! Haha XD My IRL name is Dakota :D'
'Oh! XD mine is Agnes.' I respond.
'That's a nice name :)' Dakota comments.
I blush slightly at the thought that he liked my name, 'You're just saying that.'
'No... XD'
'Oh well thank you then :D look, it's getting really late. I'm really sorry.'
'Okay :/' he replies, 'Will you be on tomorrow?'
'Hopefully ;) I'll probably be on all day.'
'Alright :D me too.'
Skype bleeps at me with that bubbly sound as Dakota accepts my contact request. I decide to message him on there instead of Chatzy, 'I'll see you tomorrow then :D'
'Yep' he replies, 'G'night'

"You look like you're in a good mood." Tanya, a good friend comments.
"Yep." I reply and look up at her, smiling happily.
"Alright." She sits down at the table with her coffee, "Spill the beans, what's happened?"
I raise an eyebrow and grin.
She crosses her arms, "Go on. Tell me. I could do with some good news right now."
I smile wider, showing my teeth, "Okay." I take a deep breath, "Over the weekend, I met someone."
"Oh?" she leans forward.
"And... they're really nice to me. And we have loads of stuff in common..."
"Okay..." she smiles casually, "So...?"
"And I have him on Skype... and I've been talking with him all night." I explain.
"Him?" she questions, "What's his name?"
I furrow my brow, "Err... did I say him?"
"Yes. What's his name?" Tanya asks demandingly.
"It's..." I smirk, "Dakota."
Tanya leans back in her seat, "Nice. Cool." She takes a sip of her coffee, "Nationality?"
"American." I reply.
"State?"
"Washington."
Tanya nods in discernment, "And?"
"I like him. He's alright." I respond truthfully.
Tanya doesn't say anything for a few moments, I lean back in my seat and look around the college, staring at people as they went and bought their lunch, "Hm." Tanya grunts.
"What?" I ask, drawing my attention to her once again.
"You're not telling the full story." She elaborates.
I spread my arms in a confused gesture, "What's there more to tell?"
Tanya makes eye contact and raises her right eyebrow.
"Okay," I look down at the table and nod slightly, "Okay, okay." I hunch my shoulders and sigh, "I might have... a slight crush on him."
Tanya goes wide eyed, "Really?" she questions sarcastically, "I would've never have guessed."
"But only slightly." I hold my index finger and thumb close together in front of Tanya's face.
Tanya smirks, staring at the small bubbles in her coffee.
I grab her wrist and lean in swiftly, "But you can't tell anyone about this. It's still early days, and I don't know whether I like him that much."
Okay, that was a complete lie.
Tanya sighs, "Alright. As long as you help me with this coursework."
"What is it?" I ask.
"Psychology." She answers.
I huff, "You know I can't do that s**t."
"I know, but you're usually very interested." She replies.
"Well yes, it is very interesting. But I can't do it." I respond.
"You don't have to." Tanya says, "There are just some questions I need to ask you."
I nod and smile, "Okay."
