Chapter Three: Kiss my ass, Sasquatch
"You're kidding, right? Please tell me you're kidding," I pleaded as i looked over at Kase, who was perched in the back seat of my brother's car.
A smirk graced her lips as she stared straight ahead, her arms crossed over her chest. "Does this face look like it would kid? No."
I groaned and leaned back into the seat as i looked out the windshield. "I don't wanna though, Kase. He's..." I paused, trying to come up with a word to describe Bram. "Repulsive." I muttered and shuddered at the memory of the party.
Kase chuckled. "And that is why you are perfect for the job."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Mh hmm."
"Not doing it."
"Are too."
"Am not."
"You are."
"Nope."
"I'll make you."
I shrugged and looked over my shoulder at Kase. "Do it. I still won't do it."
Kase groaned and fell back against the seat. "Why?! It's not that hard. Are you really that scared to talk to a guy? Or are you just doing this to irk me?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at me.
"Irk? You still use the word?" I raised my eyebrow, trying to get her off of the subject at hand.
"Don't try to distract me, Lee. It won't work."
I shrugged and turned back around. At least i can say that i tried.
Brent pulled the driver's door opened and plopped down in the seat, handing back the bags of food he just purchased.
Smiling, i took mine. "Thanks, bro!" I chirped, happy to finally get something to eat, even if it was five in the morning.
Brent nodded as he started the car up, letting the heat flow over us as he began eating his sandwich. "Why is it that whenever you're over we end up getting food at five in the morning?" Brent asked as he eyed Kase in the rear-view mirror.
With a mouthful of food, Kase grinned before she shrugged her shoulders.
I let out a small giggle before taking a bite from my own sandwich. "It's because we get bored and when we get bored, we get hungry."
"I'll remember that," Brent muttered.
I chuckled and took another bite out of my sandwich. It was early Sunday morning which meant that mom would try to get us to go to the church, then to the soup kitchen. Brent never wanted to go but i, on the other hand, actually liked helping out people. It was...rewarding.
"So, what are the plans for today, Lee?" Kase asked, munching on her hash brown.
"Church then probably the soup kitchen."
"If mom's home by then. She hasn't been home all night," Brent said, looking off into the distance.
I frowned some. "Yeah...who knows then."
"I know! We can go shopping and get you cuter clothes," suggested Kase.
I groaned and let my head fall back against the seat. "No, i don't wanna get any of those clothes."
"Why not?"
"Because they make me feel gross."
"Yeah, but they make you look hot."
