"Hey (L/N), where should I put my coat?" Leo said as the two of you walked through the front door of your loft. It had become routine for your best friend Leo to come over and hang out with you until your mother came home."I dunno, throw it on my bed or something." You shrugged.
"You got it!" He shouted, All ready half way up the stairs towards your room. You threw your bag on an empty chair and then followed after him.
When you got to your room, you found that the boy was laying on your bed, reading a brochure. You recognized it as the one your dance instructor gave you last week.
"Starlight Dance Competition?" Leo asked, tossing the brochure back in its original spot on the nearby desk.
"Yeah. It's this really prestigious dance competition in New York. My instructor wants me to audition." You exclaimed blankly.
"Really? That's great, (N/N), I'm so proud of you!" He shouted excitedly, jumping off the bed and hugging you tight.
You slowly wriggled out of the hug and looked at him wistfully. "Thanks, but I'm not sure I'm even gonna go."
"What are you talking about (Y/N)? Dance is your life!" This was true. You had been dancing since before you could remember. You loved the way the music moved through you body, and the way you could really express yourself through movement. It made you feel amazing.
"I know, Valdez, I know, but that's just it. I mean this- this is the third most popular dance competition in the entire world. People come from all over North America to try out. What if... What if I'm not good enough?"
He frowned, wrapping his arms around you once again. "Oh, (N/N), that's what you're worried about? That you won't get in? (Y/N), you're the best dancer I've ever seen! They'd have to be crazy not to pick you!"
You sighed, but you didn't think it hid the fact your face was now the color of Bob from Veggietales. The nice things he was saying about you, mixed with the hugging, was almost too much.
"Hey, Leo? Could I... Could I rehearse? Would you mind?" You said, turning towards him. He grinned, dropping his hands to his sides.
"Not at all! Go ahead!" Was his only response, and you smiled, thanking him only about a billion times.
You grabbed your dance bag, running out your door and down to the basement. Leo followed close behind. When you arrived, you pulled out your speaker and your phone. You were all ready wearing dance clothes because its all you ever wore, but you had a jacket on over your crop top and booty shorts. You started stretching, as Leo pulled up the music on your phone and turned the Bluetooth to the speaker. When you were through with that, you moved to the empty space your mom had reserved for dance, and got into position.
"Just... Don't judge me, okay?" You asked him.
"Never, (L/N), never." Leo said, grinning at you as he settled himself in a front row seat. You smiled back, and the music started.
The song you were doing was from Chicago. It was called "When You're Good To Mama". It was... Sexual, to say the least. You were basically stripping onstage, if strippers did acro tricks and jazz moves. Leo didn't seem to mind though. On the contrary, he actually seemed to enjoy it. He sat forward in his chair, jaw dropped at your teasing movements. Especially when you pulled off the jacket mid song. He was basically drooling over you. You didn't really care, you were half naked in front of a teenage boy. (And you mayyyyyyybe had a thing for him, but not like you'd ever let anyone know that) You smirked at him, and made your moves a little sexier.
When the last note of the song ended, you stood back up and wiped your sweat. You looked at him expectantly, waiting for his response, but he just sat there, mouth open. You sashayed over to his chair, leaning forward towards him so your your cleavage was basically in his face. You smirked, and you put two fingers on his chin, pushing his jaw back in place.
"Not to be too cliche, but you'll catch flies." You giggled. He scowled back at you.
Suddenly, your speaker started playing again. You guessed you had forgot to pause it. The first words to "Roxie" came on. You walked over to turn it off, when suddenly, you had an awesome idea.
Without a word, you gracefully spun around and yanked Leo up out of his seat by his suspenders. He yelped, almost falling over because of your strength. You giggled as he looked at you, utterly confused. You twirled him, still tugging on his suspenders.
"Come on, Repair Boy, dance with me!" You said. You let go of his suspenders and grabbed his hips, swaying them to the beat. He didn't move. You glanced back up at him, only to notice his face was bright red, and he was staring wide-eyed at you. You let go, thinking maybe you were hurting him. Maybe not though, because he suddenly laughed heartily and picked you up, spinning you around. You're smile quickly returned (Leo seemed to have that affect on you) and you grabbed his hands, jazzily dancing in the middle of your basement.
You were having an incredible time. You showed Leo how to do a chanet turn, and he taught you how to do actually good air guitar. You laughed as he started mixing together the 2010's dances with the 1950's jazz that was playing. It was a great time. You spent maybe an hour or so just having fun.
As you were twisting and shouting to the third or fourth Christina Aguleira song that had come on, you noticed that Leo had stopped dancing, and was leaning over your phone. You stared at him questioningly, wondering what the boy was up to. He must've noticed your eyes on him, because he turned around and grinned at you innocently... Which was never a good sign. You stepped over to him to see what he was doing, but before he could, he turned around and grabbed your hand. You looked up at him, bewildered, only to be met with the same spritely smile on his face.
It was then that you notice the song that had started playing. The first notes to I'm Yours by Jason Mraz started coming from your speaker. You smiled, still slightly confused. You loved this song, but it wasn't exactly the kind you bump and grind to. Without a word, Leo tugged you toward him, wrapping his free arm around your waist. You finally understood what was going on. He was dancing with you.
He led you gracefully around the room, spinning you and humming the tune. A giant smile never left either of your faces. You especially were giggling up a storm. You couldn't help it. You had always wanted a guy to dance with you, and now here was your favorite guy, twirling you around the room. His hand went from your waist to your back, tugging you impossibly closer to him. He leaned into your ear, whispering the lines sweetly.
"Oh, I can't wait, no more, Our time, is short. This is our fate. I'm yours."
You couldn't stop the visible shiver that went down your back. He laughed, then dipped you slowly as the song faded out.
You closed your eyes, enjoying the closeness between the two of you, when you felt his lips on yours. He moved his warm lips on top of yours for a few seconds, which was far too short in your opinion, and then lifted you back up. You stared at him, trying to calm your frantically beating heart. He once again leaned into your ear.
"You're mine, (Y/N). And I'm yours."
