I walked with Addison again to school like we had been doing everyday since kindergarten. "Bucky saw you sit with the zombies at lunch yesterday. He's trying to convince me to stop talking to you and threatened to embarrass you at tryouts. I tried to calm him down, but he wouldn't listen to anything I said."

"It's alright Addy. I'll deal with him when the time comes."

"Maybe if I don't talk to you in school, he won't bother you. We don't have that many classes together anyway. We'll just walk to school together and call each other for a few hours every night until he gets over the zombie thing. I can find someone else to pass messages back and forth for us." She was trying to make things easier for both of us, but Bucky was the most stubborn person we knew.

"It's worth a shot. If other people get used to the zombies and nothing bad happens, then he really can't do anything about it." We came to a stop across the street from the school. I hugged her for a solid minute and said, "I'm going to go in first, so it seems like we didn't walk here together." She nodded and sighed.

Zed was leaning against his locker, holding his stuff when I reached our wing. "Good morning, Y/N."

"Hey, Ze-"

"Rrriiiiing rrriiiiiiing"

It was the zombie alarm, which meant something had caused a zombie's Z-band to stop working. The cheerleaders across the hall from Zed and I, screeched and ran away from us. The alarm was giving everyone an excuse to run or attack the zombies. A bunch of jocks were running towards us. I grabbed Zed's hand and pulled him down the hall, around a few corners, and into a storage closet. Other people would head to the Zombie Safe Room, so it was best to avoid there.

"I have no idea how long it will take until we can leave here without you being attacked," I said apologetically. I started humming to calm myself. I was claustrophobic and was trying to prevent a panic attack. We were in the largest storage closet I knew of, but the darkness wasn't helping.

I was still holding Zed's hand in the dark, and he noticed I was clamming up. "Will singing calm you more than humming?"

"I think so." I wasn't sure what to sing, but I started by creating a melody.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, la, la, la, la, la
Oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah

He fumbled around and turned on a lamp as I sang. It wasn't very bright, but it was definitely an improvement.

I know we might be crazy
But did you hear the story

I had no idea what story he was referring to, but played along anyway.

I think I heard it vaguely

A girl and a zombie

He was singing about us.

Oh, tell me more, boy
Sounds like a fantasy

Oh, what could go so wrong with a girl and a zombie

You're from the perfect paradise
And I'm livin' on the darker side

Ooh, I got a feeling if you get to know me
Right from the start you caught my eye
And something inside me came to life

Ooh, I got a feeling if you get to know me

Someday, this could be, this could be ordinary
Someday, could we be something extraordinary
You and me, side by side
Yeah, yeah
Out in the broad daylight
If they laugh we'll say...

We're gonna be someday
We're gonna be someday
Someday, someday
We're gonna be someday

We're gonna be someday

Girl, you look delicious
Oh, I mean gorgeous

Well, now you're getting fearless
No, I'm just rooting for us
If different was a superpower, we'd be so flawless
Yeah, we could make these two worlds ours
I'm rooting for us

Two lonely hearts meet in the dark
Imagine it now, they start a spark

You got my attention
What happens next then

Movies and long walks in the park
Hanging out anywhere we want

I like the way you're thinking
I can almost see it

Someday, this could be, this could be ordinary
Someday, could we be something extraordinary
You and me, side by side
Yeah, yeah
Out in the broad daylight
If they laugh we'll say...

We're gonna be someday
Someday, someday

So let them talk if they wanna
Let them talk if they're gonna
We're gonna do what we wanna
Let them talk, let them talk
If they wanna, they wanna

Someday, this could be, this could be ordinary
Someday, could we be something extraordinary

You and me, side by side
Out in the broad daylight
If they laugh we'll say...

We're gonna be someday
Someday, someday
We're gonna be someday
Someday, someday
We're gonna be someday
