Power Struggle (Cuphead Fanfiction) [Cancelled]

Chapter 6: First Battle

As the two brothers ran as fast as they could to Die House they could already see giant vines ripping through the ground and shooting into the sky. It obviously didn't take much time for Cagney to counter attack. As the boys neared the Die House Cuphead began charging a shot and Mugman equipped the homing shot. 

The sight they were met with was an odd one. On one side o the fight was a giant plant firing needles and various flora. On the other side was Werner Wernman sitting in a modified tank that was made from a giant soup can. Regardless the two cups jumped into the fray.

Each projectile that Werner shot was destroyed by Mugmans homing bullets meanwhile Cuphead fully charged his shots before firing, doing his max amount of damage. Not only were their shots doing damage to the makeshift tank but Cagney was also doing his fair share of damage as well. Unlike the first time the cups fought him he didn't have a giant mechanical cat to control this time, or at least it wasn't within view and even if it was he wouldn't be able to get it past Die House.

As the battle toiled on the boys let their muscle memory carry them forward, effortlessly dodging all of Werners attacks. And though Cagney wasn't able to dodge a few shots he was a hell of a lot more durable than the cups. Werner was very visibly losing.

Cagney held the tank in place as the boys got on either side of the tank and used their energy beam super attacks. The force of the double sided attack crushed the can, sending Werman out of the odd vehicle. As the boys caught their breath they watched a very startled Werman push himself backwards until his back hit a tree trunk.

Cuphead and Mugman felt satisfied with their work, nodding in agreement to let the rat go. As Werman scrambled up and began running towards the door of Die House a loud series of noises sounded out.

The cups watched in mortified slow motion as Cagneys vines shot out of the ground and towards the rat. Each vine pierced through the rats body effortlessly, the thorns tearing the flesh around the initial wounds. As the vines retreated from Wermans body he fell to his knees and coughed up horrifying amounts of blood, smashed his face into the ground and twitched only a few seconds before falling limp and becoming nothing more than a fountain of crimson fluid staining the dirt and grass.

Mugman puked before he could think. Cuphead fought the same urge. He simply turned to Cagney, horrified.

For the first time since he'd known the flower Cuphead didn't see the grumpy antisocial flower, but instead he saw a thoughtless killer. Then as flower left two disturbing thoughts went through Cupheads mind.

Why didn't Cagney do something like that when they fought him?

How can Cuphead get that powerful?
