Breaking Brielle
Chapter Twenty-five
Not Edited
~ Brielle Clark's POV ~
"Mr. Preston are you ready to present?" Mr. James asks as we sit in his class.
"Yeah" Matt stands up and takes a few papers out of his binder and walks towards the front of the room.
"I'm glad you've decided to present" Mr. James comments.
"Yeah" Matt nods and clears his throat.
"Brielle Clark is probably the happiest girl I have ever met. And that's saying something since my mom's just a ball of sunshine" He says and everyone laughs.
"She's also the strongest person I've ever met. She's the daughter of River Linden, our all star quarterback. He died before she was even born. She only moved back because her mother died of cancer last May. The day she told me that, I was amazed that I couldn't tell. Everyday she would come up to me with her amazing smile and try to make me feel better. I never even told her there was anything wrong. She just knew. That is how smart she is. She was the only person that looked at me and could tell that I wasn't the scary loner kid. She saw me as what I was. Broken. But she didn't believe I was broken. That's the funny thing. She just wanted to be my friend. She helped me. She may not have fixed the emotional and physical damage that the accident did to me but she is the reason I started waking up with a purpose. Brielle is indescribable. She's left her mark on me and I won't be able to forget her. I never asked her deep questions because the only time I ever asked her questions, I didn't care. I was planning on failing this projects because I didn't care about her. Her favorite color is blue. She loves serial killer documentaries. She likes punk music even though she looks like she likes indie. Her full name is Brielle Anastasia Clark. That's all I really got. But from the past 7 months I've picked up on things. Like she really likes flowers. She loves wearing dresses but she hates skirts for some reason. She only wears high waisted pants or shorts. She loves wearing crop tops. She has beautiful green eyes and naturally curly blonde hair. She rarely ever wears make up and I love that about her. She's so naturally beautiful. She doesn't even have to try. She's fearless except for heights. There's a spider that lives in her bathroom and sometimes when she has no one to talk to, she talks to him. It sounds crazy but as someone who keeps their feelings bottled up, it's not. The first time I took her on my bike, I felt her laughing as we drove. And I found that amazing because I was scared when I first drove on my bike. Honestly I don't think I'm going to pass this project because my essay that's supposed to be about her has turned into reasons I love her. I love Brielle Clark. And I love saying that. And yesterday she showed everyone this video about me that made it seem like I was this amazing person when I'm not. I hurt her. I hurt her because I was scared. 2 weeks ago I left her, underneath a Ferris wheel because I was afraid. I spent 2 weeks ignoring her and she still made me out to be this fantastic guy" He took a deep breath.
Everyone was listening intensely and I was choking back sobs.
"Brielle" He looked up from his paper and at me. The entire class followed his eyes and I saw someone recording it. "I'm so sorry. And this is going to sound corny but I know you like this sort of stuff. Will you go to prom with me?"
I stared at him for a few minutes before letting the tears go and nodding.
"Yes"
