Second Chance Royal

Chapter one

                Some say the only way to love someone is to let them be free and choose who they love, even if it isn't you as much as you may wish it was. I was told not to worry on childish anxiety of love because the one made for me alone has been already chosen by the moon goddess. they call it a mate you meet at the age of 18. Destined from birth as the only royal heir of the kingdom and only child born due to the queens incapability to hold another child, i was raised to defend and become the mother of all werewolf kind. Ive become known for my grace with a sword and ability to determine solutions to most disagreements that come upon the kingdoms people or other species. when i turned 18 i wish i could have told myself that love it like the wind, you cant see it, but you can feel it. 

*knock knock*

"Who is it?"

"Its Brian, now get up before I drag your ass out of bed!"

I stretch feeling my back give a satisfying crack. that boy is the death of me.

"Your such a sweetheart for waking me up so nicely you know. "

He starts chuckling.

"Just hurry up!"

I hear him walk down the hall and began to change into some flexible clothes. I brush my hair and look at my mirror seeing all my crazy pictures with my dear first, Brian. He has been my best friend since we were young pups. His dad ,Robert, is the royal beta that assists my father in paper work and to keep our kingdom from going to unnecessary war. He's been 18 for a while now but no mate. 

I finish changing and run down to get breakfast and I see everyone already sitting down. I take my seat next to my mother and Brian . We all get served and look at my dad. in silence, we wait for the alpha to give us permission to begin eating. My father nods and we all dig in. After I put the last bite of food in my mouth and about to excuse myself my father speaks.

"So Isabel tomorrow is your coming of age. I was thinking of having a ball"

I started choking on the last bit of  food and Brian pats my back helping me swallow my food. 

"No dad please its already too late to plan such an event"

I see him look at my mother and she giggles excitedly. I sighed already prepared what they were about to say.

"Please don't tell me you were planning this all along father"

"Your mother had such delight planning the ball and I took some time to invite many guests, including the east werewolf kingdom."

I got up and gave both my parents and hug. To be honest I was happy with a little party or just going out to dinner but a ball would be nice. hopefully everything goes well. My mom grabs my hand and excuses both of us with a smile and leads me to her room. She pulls me into her walk in closet and when she turn on the light. abeautiful silver and navy blue dress stands out in the middle of the room and i stop.

I just cant help stare at it. Although I usually where dresses often when im not training, I cant help but fall in love with this dress. My mom walks around the dress fixing up the wrinkles and smiles at it.

"So do you love it? I saw it and just had to get it for you. You might meet your mate tomorrow with this dress."

That's when it hit me. They want me to show myself off to my mate.

"Mom I love the dress but you know I'm in no hurry. My mate will come when the moon goddess wants us to meet. The ball was so unnecessary for just him."

"Nonsense Isabel you'll see I'm right. Also no love your turning 18, you are becoming an adult so I feel as if this "birthday" ball should be amazing"

I look at her then back at the dress. She really does know how to pick them. Right when I'm about to speak she cuts me off with the motion of her finger.

"Go train our warriors before I start giving out too many details about the party."

She quickly pushes me out of her room and closes her door. I cant help but laugh to myself and walk to the training yard. As I get to our training ground, there are already everyone waiting for me as they stretch at Brian's command. When they all see me they bare there necks and slightly nod as a head bow. I just nod and signal to keep stretching. Brian comes up to me and tells me the schedule. I nod and command everyone to there running position. I have all slow runner in the front and fast in the back. They arent done doing their laps till everyones done. It builds a sense of team work and keeps everyone pushing. I send them off and tell my future gamma Gray to lead the run while I talk to Brian . He nods and everyone leaves. He looks at me and he sits down. He knows me too well. Whenever I cried he was there, everytime I was happy he was there. people say i act too mature for my age but i really am a regular teen at heart, if you call a regular teen having so much responsibility at my age He has been through it all with me and I with him. He hugs me and I breath in his sent and all my nerves calm down.

"I know your nerves Isabel, just calm down and think of it as a happy thing" you might find your mate and maybe ill find mine this year "

Brian has had no sign of his mate and you can tell he needs one. Without her sometimes he gets too angry or has these random sad mood swings that I have to reassure him he will find her to calm him.

"Im sure we'll both end up happy with our mate but what if everything goes wrong"

He looks straight into my eyes and he gives an award winning smile. Whoever his mate is will be so happy to have him. We both lean in and put our foreheads together and stay like that for a moment. He then pulls me up and towards the forest.

"I think you just need a quick run to cool off your mind, it always helps me"

We both go behind a tree and transform into our wolfs. Of course as a princess I have white fur and he has his midnight black fur that shows he has so much power as a male alpha werewolf would, maybe his mate might make him an alpha. I feel him nudge me to go forward and off we run.
