CHAPTER TWELVE.
SHAWARMA'S GOOD.THE AVENGERS WERE TIRED, but happy that the battle was now over. They sat quietly around a table in a shawarma restaurant that Tony mentioned and ate peacefully. Loki sat in the corner of the destroyed diner, hands cuffed together by Asgardian technology and his face muzzled. It brought a sense of relief to the Avengers that Loki could not break the cuffs nor annoy them by speaking thanks to the Asgardian technology.
Alexios was already annoyed with the raven-haired god and the destruction he caused. She also annoyed that the battle was now on National news and she was no longer considered 'normal'. Her attention was on the TV that displayed the news, as well as her food that sat before her. Alexios pretty well ignored the conversation going on around her.
Captain America saved my life.
They're dangerous.
Some of us are calling her Blaze, others say Flame. We can't decide.
That girl saved my daughter's life.
We can't thank the Avengers enough.
Tony nudged Alexios in the ribs, getting her attention as her head snapped in his direction. She quirked an eyebrow and settle her face into an irritated expression.
"Blaze, eh?" Tony smirked, "Like it?"
She rolled her eyes, "It's an alter ego. Do I really get a choice? Romanoff didn't, Rogers didn't, Banner didn't."
"Lady Blaze!" Thor boomed, causing her to roll her eyes once again. He grinned, "Sounds lovely to me!"
Alexios grumbled, snapping a small flame to life with her fingers and thrusted it towards the fry in Tony's hand. He yelped, jumping back and throwing the fry into her glass of water. She glared at him.
"What was that for!" Tony exclaimed.
She shrugged, "You started the conversation so now I'm mad you, also because I just hate you."
"You know, it's funny– a girl who is so emotionally cold can control fire. This world is so messed up." Tony stated, glaring at the blonde.
Alexios grinned, his statement failing to faze her. "Good, I try to be."
Clint had looked down, but his snickers could still be heard. Bruce had joined in on the laughter just thirty seconds later. Clint leaned over the table, holding his palm up and it made Alexios smirk as she high fived him. Tony grumbled from beside her, halting the laughter from around the table.
They fell into a comfortable silence once again and continued to eat. Alexios picked at her food, slouching down in her chair as she placed her feet in Clint's lap and watched the news once again. His hand laid over her shins and said nothing to the blonde about her position, which she was pretty thankful for.
A soft sigh left Steve's lips as he positioned his head to do the same, his eyes settling on the screen.
The news displayed replayed scenes from the battle and people like politicians and reporters commenting on the situation. Now, barely any civilians commented, their fifteen seconds of fame were gone. The Avengers did not have such luck.

THE AVENGERS RETURNED TO small spot in the city that wasn't destroyed. It was off to the side of a park and rather calm, much different to the chaos they had all experienced earlier. They came together and stood in circle, with Thor and Loki in the center.
Alexios stood next to Steve as they watched Tony and Bruce secure the Tesseract for Thor. The Cube would be going back to Asgard, where it belonged and out of the hands of selfish humans. Alexios certainly didn't argue with the agreement.
The secured cube was handed off to the God and they all said their goodbyes to Thor. He was gone the next minute, disappearing after a blue light flashed before them.
Alexios sighed softly, "It's over."
"Thank God." Clint muttered.
"I have no idea what to do with my life now," Alexios laughed, "My life is pretty boring."
"You could always join S.H.I.E.L.D., and get proper training, become an agent." Natasha offered to Alexios and she shook her head.
"I'm good, but thank you." She declined, "Coulson always tried, it's just not my thing."
Clint nodded, "Then you'll know where to find us if you decide other."
Alexios smiled at his kindness towards her. She thanked him as she said her goodbyes to the Avengers. She said goodbye to Natasha, saying that they should make plans sometimes and said goodbye to Bruce and hugged him before moving on. She said goodbye to Tony, but not without her signature sarcastic comment to the man, to which he replied back with another snarky comment and a glare.
Steve was last, and as Alexios turned to face him, she gave him a smile.
"It was nice working with you, Alex." Steve nodded politely.
"As it was with you, and I hope we get to work together again in the future, mr. Rogers." Alexios spoke softly, "Also, you're way cooler than what the history books make you to be." She winked.
Steve blushed, moving his hand to the rub the back of his neck in embarrassment. He laughed uneasily, "Uh, thanks."
"That's a good thing, Steve. But I have a question."
"Go ahead," he nodded.
She shrugged, "You going back to D.C., and if so, can I get a ride?"
"Of course." Steve answered, leading her to his bike.
Alexios and Steve waved to the Avengers one last time before climbing on. She wrapped her arms around his tiny torso as he started up the bike and speed off into the streets. Steve wore a slight smile, happy that he was making a difference and Alexios wore a smile for the simple fact that she could now go home and sleep.
