It was early morning and the dew was still heavy upon the leaves of the small wood. The sun peaked through the small village and cast extensive shadows across the pasture. Horses walked through the high grass slowly, still rising for their morning routine. A lithe shadowy form appeared, slowly strolling across the meadow. He had a small top hat, a trench coat, and long shaggy black hair. He had a sickly air about him, as if he was dying from an affliction of the lungs. The man was scrawny, a bit underweight around the midsection with clear rigid bony shoulders. He had a minor limp that he seemed to ignore, and was breathing obnoxiously loudly. He muttered quiet pleas under his breath, seeming to need help.
He loped across the grass as quickly as he could, desperately trying to reach his destination. The village, being around eight in the morning was quieter than during the day, and the man was used to the absence of sound. He typically went out onto the moors every morning to simply walk and watch the horses graze, but on this morning he'd had a deadly accident. As he was strolling through a portion of the field with higher grass he'd felt a sharp sting in his calf. As he looked down he recognized a snake as it slithered away into the field. Afraid, as it could be poisonous, he had frantically began a quick journey down to the village where a practicing doctor lived not too far from the edge of town. Considering the weight in his limbs and the pain in his veins it became clearer and clearer that he was right. Panting hopefully he made it all the way to the steps, but there was a piece of paper attached to the door. Unable to read it from this distance, the man hauled himself weakly up each step. When he came close enough to see what it said, his stomach dropped. It read:Dear visitor, I have taken a house call for one of my patients and don't expect to be home until mid day today after I've eaten. I apologize for any inconvenience, but I will be available at any other time of day or night.
Disheartened and afraid, he leaned back against the wall. He Slid down until he was resting upright with his head tossed back against the panels. He shut his eyes and swallowed hard. His hat fumbled off as the man’s head slouched over and he drifted off.
Upon returning to his house, the doctor noticed a dark shape slouched on his porch. And upon further inspection he realized it was his least common patient, John Smith. This was one of the healthiest people he'd ever met, and didnt expect to see him at all, Let alone like this.
(Ok, some background. I had a creative writing class and this was the final in there. Expect the first few chapters to be from there. Jabell is a reference to our FUCKING TEACHER. HIS NAME WAS JUSTIN BELL AND IF YOU DONT KNOW, HE WAS ARRESTED FOR BEING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH A STUDENT WHILE ALSO BEING MARRIED TO AN ADULT WOMAN WITH 2 KIDS. \Õ-Õ/ AND HIS TWITTER WAS JABELLPEPPER HE THOUGHT HE WAS FUCKING FUNNY ANYWAY WE LOVED HIM UNTIL THIS NEWS CAME OUT IM SO PISSED HE WAS A PEDO WTF anyway yeah the stuff from his class gets weird af. So this one, i was going through a slIGHT sherlock phase and i loved the BBC version with Beanwhistle Cumquat and Martin Freeman so the featured human in this story is basically designed after Basketfucker CaliforniaNubb's body type and the trench coat was obviously inspired by the fuckin coat but anyway, i had no idea what the hell to do with this one so i asked my dad's help and he was like "ummm he's sick?" So i was like fuckit bit by snake so here. I kinda want to write about this man as having more of a story before this but who knows I'll probably never do shit. Anyway cya)
