Carter POV

Waking up, the sun beamed over my eyes as I sat up in the bed. I looked over to see a sleeping Jade. Gosh she's beautiful. I shook my head from the thoughts I was (for some reason) having. They were wrong. She's just my partner and on top of that my sister's best friend. Do you know how awkward it would be if we dated? It's even awkward sleeping with her. Although the bed is king size and we don't even share a blanket. The townhome only came with two bedrooms. One was for the baby and the other was for us. There was no place else really for me to sleep and neither of us were taking the couch. Hell no!

I decided to snap out of my thoughts and head over to the bathroom. One thing about me is I'm a well kept together man. I care about the way I look, I take care of my body, and I focus a lot on how I carry myself. I'm not one of those lazy niggas out here. No time for that especially with my dad always up my ass on the way I look and play. As you may or may not know, I am a basketball player. Not pro, but that's definitely a must and a challenge I'm ready to take once I graduate.

Brush my teeth; Shave my beard; Wash off; Get dressed; done. My morning was just getting started. 10:30. I decided to start breakfast. Cereal. As you can see, I'm not a cooker.

Jade POV
12:01 p.m. Fuck, I really slept that long? Wow, wonder what made me so tired. It was almost time to go pick up the baby, we had to be there by 1:30. Is it kind of weird to say that I'm sort of excited? No idea why though, just the thought of a little baby in my arms has me jumping. This is weird...really weird.

At The Orphanage

"Hello students. How are you on this wonderful Saturday evening?" Crickets and yawns. That's what Professor got from us. None of these people want to be here sir.

"Nothing? Okay then. I hope once you get your children those frowns will turn upside down!" He joked. Again...nobody wants to be here sir.

"Well...okay now. When you hear your name please come up to the front to take your baby and his or hers belongings." Carter who was standing right next to me looked at me with a nervous expression. We stood in a small crowd inside the orphanage, all with anxious faces.

"Ryan Paul and Laura Simpson," Professor called. A tall scrawny man and a petite sorority girl went up to the open space where professor and some staff member were standing. A staff member passed the two a baby carrier with obviously what looks like a cute chocolate baby girl in the seat. She was adorable. Laura awwed while Ryan stood awkwardly. The staff member handed Ryan the baby carrier with the cute little mama in it. They were also given some paper work to sign in case of emergencies. Professor explained to us how we each have to sign a short contract stating that if a child is in danger with the couple they are immediately accused of child abuse and will be kicked out of the university. Tuff right?

"Jade Santana and Carter Johnson." Uh oh.

Carter scratched the back of his neck and stood there for a moment. I quietly grabbed his hand in nervousness and we both walked together to the front. I cannot tell you how badly my legs wanted to give out on me right then and there. It was terrible.

A staff came up to us with a carriage and a smile. She first handed me the paper work and said a few encouraging words to us. I smiled nervously. She then handed Carter the baby carriage. Carter took it with a tense look. I squeezed his hand, that by the way I was still holding, I'm encouragement. I was really curious to see what the baby looked like so I picked the blanket up off of the baby's body to take a little look. My heart swelled as I stood upon a the most gorgeous baby I have ever seen in my life. Aiden Maxwell was a 3 month old brown skin, curly hair, deep brown eyes, big fluffy cheeks, and cute little dimples baby boy. He was beautiful and I was instantly in love with him.

Quick little author's note/ I am finally back on Wattpad after taking a long needed break from it. Honestly I stopped writing and reading for the wrong reasons and I really do miss it. So it would be the world to me if you guys would hit that like button because your girl needs some love lol.
