Acting normal was more difficult than Ezra anticipated. Then and again, it would be when you've learned one of your friends is a werewolf. He attempted to look fine as he ate his waffles but Kanan kept shooting him confused glances. The teen had cut off his bond to Kanan so his Master wouldn't probe his mind and find out Sabine's secret. He was serious about keeping the information hidden. Before the man could ask his apprentice anything, Hera walked into the common room.
"Ezra, Sabine, I have a mission for you two" she said.
"You're going to the planet of Grodolor to get some Rocksite. It's a temporary fuel substance we need for the A-WINGS while we get fuel in the Empire's next cycle."
Ezra noticed Sabine's hand tighten slightly around her spoon.
"Hera" Zeb said.
"That planet has no sun, how do you expect them to find Rocksite?"
"Rocksite glows purple in the dark so they shouldn't have a problem locating it" the Twe'lik replied.
"C-Couldn't Zeb or Kanan go with Ezra? Or You?" Sabine said.
Hera gave the Mandalorin a confused look.
"We're going to get the fuel, besides, Ezra will need you when he runs into trouble like he normally does."
"Hey!" Ezra protested but Sabine ignored him.
"Hera, do I have to?"
"What? Do you not like working with Ezra now?" Hera raised a brow.
"No it's not anything like that! It's just..." Sabine sighed heavily and shook her head.
"It's nothing. When do we leave?"
"In about an hour" Hera replied but still looked confused.
"I'm going to get some miracles."
The teen stood and left the common room, lips pursed and fists clenched.
"Is she okay?" Zeb wondered aloud.
"Sounds like she's growing claws" Kanan said.
Ezra flinched at that.
'You don't even know' he thought.
A gentle hand on his shoulder made Ezra look up to see Hera, a concerned look on her face.
"You okay Ezra? Both you and Sabine seem off this morning."
Ezra gave a one shouldered shrug and a convincing smile.
"It's early" he said.
"Sabine's probably just cranky."
Hera nodded and Ezra stood up.
"I'm gonna go get ready for the mission" he said moving towards the door.
Hera's eyes narrowed at the teen as he reached the door.
"Are you limping?"
Ezra froze at the Twelik's words.
Oh kriff.
Ezra turned on his heel and looked at the Captian of the Ghost.
"I landed strangely this morning when I jumped off my bunk" he replied, surprised at himself on how fast he could think of a reply.
Hera didn't look entirely convinced but nodded none the less.
"Are you going to be able to move quickly on the mission?" She asked.
"It's just a little sore" Ezra lied.
"I'll be fine."
"Okay, but if it gets worse you need to let me know."
'There's no chance I'll let you know, if you really saw the injury, Sabine's cover is blown' Ezra thought.
But the boy tilted his head forward in a nod towards the Captain, before retreating from the room to Sabine's cabin. Knocking twice on the door, Ezra waited for it to open. Sabine stood there, looking distraught. She grabbed his shoulder and yanked him inside, locking the door behind her.
"Sabine, why are you so panicked?" Ezra asked.
"Grodolor has no sun Ezra! Only two moons! I've been watching all the planet's we've visited or plan to visit and make sure none have full moons while we're there" Sabine tossed three more miracles into her shoulder bag.
"And Grodolor has a full moon coming?"
"Worse, it has two. Both moons move together in perfect synchronization, so two full moons are going to occur."
"Is that bad?"
Sabine grabbed Ezra by the collar of his shirt and yanked him close to her face so their noses were almost touching.
"Ezra, if we're on that planet when both full moons hit, I will go wild. Truly wild. I will never change back into a human and I will never be brought to my senses ever again."
"Okay...that's bad."
Sabine released the boy and paced nervously.
"Okay, so when does the full moons hit?" Ezra asked.
"On Grodolor, five days" Sabine replied.
"Psssh, come on Sabine! We won't be on Grodolor for five days" Ezra said.
"Ezra" Sabine spoke.
"Have you noticed how the unpredictable and bad stuff always seem to happen when we're together?"
Ezra fell silent for a moment.
"Yeah, I have noticed" he admitted.
"But that doesn't mean anything's going to happen."
Sabine gave him a hard look, then sighed.
"Fine, but if something bad happens, I'm blaming you."
I made Grodolor up just so you know and I really do apologize for this late update.
