SAM POV

High School --- History class

˝Okay, Mr. Witwicky, you're up.˝ Said the professor.

I looked at him and stood in front of the class to make a genealogy report about my great-great-grandfather. I took out some of his tools to show them and try to sell them.

˝Sorry, I got a lot of stuff. Okay.˝ I said.

˝For my family...˝ I was cut off by a paper bullet(?- I don't know).

˝Who did... Who did that? People! Responsibility.˝ Said the professor and sat down.

˝Okay.˝ I mumbled.

˝So, for my genealogy report, I decided to do it on my great-great-grandfather, who was a famous man, Captain Archibald Witwicky. Very famous explorer. In fact, he was one of the first to explore the Arctic Circle, which is a big deal.˝ I said showing them a old map of Arctic circle.

---THE STORY---

˝In 1897, he took 41 brave sailors straight into the Arctic Shelf.˝ I started the story.

˝Move faster, men! Move! Chop! Heave! The ice is freezing faster than it's melting! Chop faster! Heave, men!˝ Shouted one of the sailors.

˝Heave! No sacrifice, no victory! We'll get to the the Arctic Circle, lads!˝ Shouted the Captain Witwicky.

---END OF STORY---

˝So that's the story, right?˝ I said hiding half of my face behind of the map.

˝And here we have some of the basic instruments and tools used by 19th-century seamen.˝ I explain and the whole class laughs, making the professor to hold up a STOP sign with word "QUIET".

˝This here is the quadrant, which you can get for 80 bucks. It's all for sale, by the way.˝ I showed the class some other stuff.

˝Like this sextant here. $50 for this, which is a bargain. These are pretty cool. These are my grandfather's glasses. I haven't quite gotten them appraised yet, but they've seen many cool things.˝ I said showing them the glasses.

˝Are you going to sell me his liver? Mr. Witwicky, this isn't show and sell. It's the 11th grade. I don't think that your grandfather would be particularly proud of what you're doing.˝ Professor said.

˝I know. I'm sorry. I just, you know, this is all going towards my car fund. You can tell your folks. It's on eBay. I take PayPal. Cold hard cash works, too. And the compass makes a great gift for Columbus Day.˝ I was still talking that made professor snap.

˝Sam!˝

˝Sorry.˝ I said automatic.

˝Unfortunately, my great-great-grandfather, the genius that he was, wound up going blind and crazy in a psycho ward, drawing these strange symbols and babbling on about some giant ice man that he thought he'd discovered.˝ I was done till the end of the class.

˝Okay. Might be a pop quiz tomorrow. Might not. Sleep in fear tonight.˝ Professor said as a warning.

˝Here, you want? Here, 50. 40? 30?˝ I was still bargaining.

˝Sam?˝ I heard professor say my name.

˝Yeah. Sorry, sorry.˝ I said

˝Okay. Pretty good, right?˝ I asked.
