Emptiness. That's what it tends to feel like when you're not really whole. That's what it feels like when your body is born with power, but you're broken. Many people are born like such, but always fill the gap in their souls. Sex, money, violence, worship, and drugs. Of course there are more things, but to each their own.

Everybody is a time bomb just waiting to explode or worse, implode. Worse yet, do nothing.

...

"Jeremiah?"

Jeremiah yawned as he stretched, "Bueños dias." Grogginess peeled off his consciousness as he grew to remember where he was.

"Are you okay?"

"Sí? Why wouldn't I be?"

"You were monologuing in your sleep."

"Oh... was it good?"

"Eh?"

"Fuck." Jeremiah groaned as he sat up from his slumped position. Looking around he could see the interior of a limousine. They had been in it for a while now and it wouldn't be too long until they reach the Pine Tower. In his lap, his rockruff, Moonlight, curled up in a ball, whipping its tail in the air.

He ran his fingers through his hair, immediately getting it caught. "Que?"

"While you were asleep I braided your hair."

"...well am I pretty?"

"The prettiest one at the ball." Lacy cheered with a glee he hadn't seen in a while. She was cheery and energetic, clad in a soft blue dress. She kicked her feet impatiently.

Jeremiah sighed as he looked through the tinted window.

"I'm the one who dances with the Prince." He slowly, but forcefully tightened his fist.

He watched as trees passed by him. His eyes flickered about, looking at all the nocturnal Pokemon. In the distance he heard howling. He compared his nature to them, but most his life was comprised of resisting his own urges. What was freedom, but conflicted chaos? He is a man, but a man who channels Pokemon to know them better than people. In fact, Pokemon were more human than humans were to him.

"Lacy how long till we reach Campeon?"

"We're basically here."

"Do we have a place to stay the night I'd rather be sleeping on a pillow instead of this hard, but slightly comfortable and luxurious, limo seat."

"There's this place called Cherubi's, they have a bathhouse and rooms. It's a normal place."

"Why'd you say that?"

"What?"

"That it's normal?"

"Because it is?"

Jeremiah stared at Lacey for several moments, looking for a tell on her face. He couldn't tell if her expression was that of a liar or someone who genuinely believed it to be normal, but either way his instincts knew it was not quite as normal.

Finally, they entered Campion. Jeremiah's gaze wandered to and fro, taking note of the poor infrastructure. The roads were ruined, the building's paint were chipping, and through the night people seemed to prowl about. Lacy peered around uncomfortably. Moonlight took notice and leapt to Lacy's lap, to act as a guard and get additional headpats.

It took a while longer but finally they stopped at a large Hotel, the sign reading Cherubi's.

"Looks just like home." Lacy exclaimed, her eyes noted how this building in particular was kept in a superior state than the rest of the town.
