Epilogue

“Thank you,” Jungkook said, letting out a shaky breath as he sat in the car with Namjoon.  “You have no idea how grateful I am to both you and Jimin.”

“Well, Jimin said he’d figure out how to get you home,” Namjoon said with a soft breath.  “I trust him to know what he’s doing.”

“You…don’t know what he did to get me out?” the raven-haired boy said, blinking a few times.  “He’s sitting in jail-“

“He’s what?!” Namjoon cried out as he slammed on the brakes suddenly.  He gazed at Jungkook.  “You let him fucking take your place in jail?!  What the hell, Jungkook?!”

“Calm down,” Jungkook said quickly as he cowered a little.  “He’s fine.  I’m innocent, and so he is.  He won’t be there for long.  I’m just here to find Seokjin.  How long has he been gone?”

“A long time,” Namjoon said, sighing heavily.  “I haven’t kept track.  The police know that stuff.  But they seem to think that he just ran off to deal with the news of you killing the love of his life and trying to kill our father.”

“I didn’t,” Jungkook said quickly.

“I know that, Jimin insisted that it wasn’t you,” the doctor said as he started driving again.  “I trust his judgement.”

“Listen, I’m gonna change, then I’m going to start looking for Seokjin,” Jungkook explained once they pulled up to his house.  “You can help me or you can focus on my brother, your choice.”  He got out of the car and went up to the door, smiling when he saw his cat.  “Hi, buddy.  Where’ve you been?  Catching mice and birds?”  The cat meowed and nuzzled into his hands.  Jungkook perked up when he saw the ring on his collar.  “What’s this?”  He pulled the ring off the collar and let out a breath.

It was just a wedding ring.  He looked it over and blinked a few times when he saw it was engraved.

Seokjin and Taengie…Together forever…

“You saw Seokjin?” he said softly.  “Where’d you see him, huh, buddy?”  The cat meowed before laying on the porch.  “Alright, how about…how about you take him something?”  He went inside and grabbed a piece of paper, scribbling a small note on it before putting it in the cat’s collar gently.  “Take that to Seokjin, okay?”  The cat simply stared at him.  “What?  You want help?  Fine, come with me.  I’ve gotta put on clean clothes first.”

“Are you just gonna fool around with the cat all day?” Namjoon said as he came over to Jungkook.  The boy held up the wedding ring.  Namjoon snatched it.

“My cat had that on his collar,” Jungkook explained.  “Seokjin was around him somehow.  He can help us find him.  And I think I need to speak to Taehyung.  If anyone knows where he is, it’s him.”

“You lost it,” Taehyung said softly.

“Mhm, I took it off to shower,” Seokjin lied as he touched his bare ring finger.  “I must have knocked it off the sink or something.  I went back, but it’s not there.”

“I’ll get you a new on,” Taehyung reassured.  “A better one.  One for me and you.”

“You…wanna marry me?” Seokjin said, blinking a few times.

“Naturally,” Taehyung said, nodding as he smiled.  “People in love get married to each other.  They kiss, they hold hands, they do all kinds of things together…”  He leaned close to kiss Seokjin, but the doctor turned away.
