Digimon Version Three

Prologue

It was about time I uploaded this huh? Anyways, this is the prologue of the story. The first chapter will be published when my dumb ass finishes writing it. So... Enjoy!

Tai paced up and down in the white hospital corridors. He was an absolute nervous wreck. Understandable but at the same time, highly annoying. 

"Tai will you calm down? Sora will be fine! This is her third kid, she'll make it!" Matt lectures his best friend while holding his wife's hand. Jo Anne was pregnant with their daughter and would give birth in about three months if things went to plan. It did not, however, go to plan for the Yagami family. "Matt, the baby wasn't due till two months later! Sarah and Tyler were born on the set day! And I was in there! But now I am STUCK out here!" He banged his head against the wall, causing his two year old son to flinch back at the sudden noise produced by his father as he clung to his aunt's arm.

Kari rolls her eyes at her brother's behavior and ran her fingers through her nephew's auburn hair. "Tai, Monika is also in labor right now and it's her first child and yet her husband is staying calmer than you!" Davis sprung up at the mention of his wife's name but managed to calm himself down. Wendy looks to her uncle with concern in her pretty dark blue eyes. "Uncle Davis? Is you heart rate normal?" Asks the two year old girl. Davis inhales deeply and fakes a smile. "Yeah fine." He looks to Tai. "Hey Tai... Look on the bright side! Our kids will have the same birthday." The brunette says, trying to brighten the mood.  Tai says nothing in response and continues to bang his head against the wall.

Tired of their leader acting like he was ten years old again, Mimi stood up and grabs the former leader of the digidestined by the ear. "Taichi Yagami! You listen here and you listen well! Sora is a strong capable woman and has already delivered two children on her lonesome! She will be fine! And speaking of those two kids!" She forces him to turn his head to look at his son and daughter. "They are your kids too! And they don't need their dad having a seizure on them!" She looks him dead in the eye. "So mister Yagami... Go to your kids, sit your ass down, and WAIT." She finishes, releasing his ear.

Tai rubs his now sore ear and looks to Mimi. "...Thanks Mimi... I needed that..." Mimi perks up automatically. "No problem! Glad I could help!" She sat back down next to her husband. Tai sits back in his chair, picking up his son up and placing him in his lap. Tyler relaxes at his father's touch and lays his head against his chest. Sarah sits beside her father and curls up beside him. Neither kids knew what was going on but they both knew it was going to be a long wait...

By the time the wait was finally over, the digidestined had fallen asleep in their respective families minus Tai. The door of the Delivery Room opened a crack as light streamed into the room. "Tai?" Joe calls as he steps out of the delivery room. Tai looked to Joe, holding his sleeping son in his arms. "Yeah?" Joe opens the door all the way. "Congrats... It's a girl..." Tai's heart nearly skipped a beat. He and Sora had avoided asking the baby's gender so it would be a surprise.  And oh boy was this a shocker! "You can see her now..." Tai nods and places his two year old by his sister and niece as he enters the Delivery Room.

Sora was there waiting for him. She lay in bed with bags under her eyes, looking tired. Her hair was a complete mess and she looked like she had been through quite a bit. The first thing he spotted was the little red bundle she held in her hands. "Did you fall asleep?" She teases him, voice cracking a little. Tai smiles and walks over to her. "Couldn't. Had to see you and the squirt first." He kisses her forehead and looks down to the bundle in her arms. "How was it?" Sora stroked the small baby's head. "Fine. Hold her?" She held out the tiny red bundle.

A little taken aback, Tai took his daughter into his arms and his eyes widened in shock. His wife chuckles. "She's your absolute spitting image..." And that she was. Lightly tanned skin, messy brown hair, and beautiful chocolate brown eyes... She looked exactly like her father. Tai's own eyes filled up with tears of joy. "That she is... My baby girl..." She blinks those big brown eyes at her daddy before reaching her hand out and grasping his finger. Tai chuckles. "Girl's got a grip..." 

Joe smiles at the two parents cooing over their newest family member. "You got a name for her?" Tai sat down in the chair beside Sora's bed. "We didn't pick one for her yet. We had two months left so it didn't occur to us." Sora lays down and looks to her husband and new born daughter. "Tai... Pick a name for her..." Tai looked to his wife. "Are you sure?" Sora playfully rolls her eyes at her spouse. "Taichi Yagami just pick a name..." Tai smiled at his lover. "Alright then..." He looks to his daughter. "A name for a cute little thing like you... Hmm..."

"Okay everyone, wake up. I want you to meet someone..." The digidestined slowly began to stir but awoke fully when Mimi squealed. Izzy jumped about three feet in the air. "Mimi Jesus what was that-?! Oh my stars..." Mimi spoke on the behalf of pretty much everyone present. "SO. CUTE!!!" Izzy shushed her. "Mimi don't wake her now! But she does speak for all of us... She really is a sweet little thing... Congrats Tai..." Kari smiles down at her new born niece. "She looks just like you Tai! What did you name her?" Tai held the bundle in his arms. "Well Sora and I talked and..."

"We agreed on Amelia..."

Several Days Later

"Fack..." Tai rolls out of bed groggily and falls off the bed. "Ow..." He rubs the back of his head and pulls himself up. "Jeez..." He looks to the sleeping form of his wife and smiles. Sora had been mostly sleeping these days after her pregnancy was over and she had birthed Amelia. Tai chuckles, pushing the hair out of her face and tucking it behind her ear before going to check on his kids. Sarah was coloring as she hummed a song while Tyler was drawing with crayons. 

The sight of his children playing relaxed him but now he needed to check on his new born in the nusery he and Sora had set up for her. As he approached the door, he heard giggling on the other side. He paused and leans against the door, listening. Slowly, he pushed the door open and got the shock of his life. "Sora..? Honey..? Come here please!" He calls to his wife. Sora yawns and goes to her husband's side. "What is it-?" She stopped in her tracks and looked to her daughter. In her crib was what looked like the remains of an egg but that wasn't what held their attention. What got their attention was what their daughter was now playing with. Or who in this case.

It was a odd black fuzzy creature with thick fur and yellow eyes. It had no present mouth, legs, or arms, resembling somewhat of a cat head. "A... Botamon..?" Tai questions. "That means... Amy's a digidestined?" Sora sighs and smiles weakly. "Like father like daughter..." Tai looked to his baby girl. "That means... She'll be in danger one day..." Sora nods. "I guess... Tyler and Sarah too..." You couldn't have imagined the shock Sora's face when she found a Poyomon sleeping beside her daughter in her crib five days after Sarah was born. Or the utter amount of dumb struck Tai was when he found his son napping on the couch with a Nyokimon in his lap. Both parents felt like they should've expected this and yet they didn't. All three of their children had been found with a fresh level Digimon five days after birth. Gennai seemed to know nothing about it and just assumed it was destiny. Ya know what he said? Fuck destiny. His kids couldn't be destined to go down the same path as he did. It was dangerous and they were too young, they could be hurt. But in the end he really had no say. It was their choice.

Tai gritted his teeth. "Damn it... Damn it all..!" Sora places a hand on his shoulder. "I know Tai but it's not our decision... It's theirs when they're of age... Besides... We have what are our parents could never give us..." The brunette looks to his wife. "And that would be..?" "Guidance. We can educate them about the Digital World and steer them in the right direction." She looks to her new born as she plays with Botamon. "And we can better prepare them for what's ahead. But all we can do right now is be there... That's what a parent needs to do..." Tai inhales deeply. "You're right but..."  Sora smiles and kisses his lips. "Let's just leave it at I'm right, kay?" Tai smirks and kisses her back. "Fine then." He teases her.

He turns attention to his daughter playing with what would be her partner in the near future. "Guess that is true then... Like father like daughter..."
