Apparently my B button is working again (don't ask me, we didn't even fix it!! I swear on my life it was broken!!!!) and after I played a little bit of it when I was using Vicky's 3DS and changed the controls option in settings to L=A, I can now play Pokémon Sun with nooooo issues :D
So...
