After the coronation, T'Challa had left to have the power of the Black Panther restored. He would then go to Djalia, the ancestral plane where the rest of the panthers resided. Zala was glad, he would finally get to say goodbye to his father. The boy she had once played with was now the man she wanted to marry, a King.
Zala accompanied Queen Ramonda and Shuri back to the kingdom. Ramonda said she wanted to speak with her. They walked into to the now empty throne room and stood by the window, overlooking Wakanda.
"My dear Zala, I'm so happy you and my son have been reunited. I know you two never lost touch. I recall, only weeks after you had left, I caught him sneaking out to see you." A smile crept across Zala's face, "I recognized the look in his eye. Love. And that's what I see in your eyes too. Now that T'Challa is King, he will need a Queen by his side. My time is coming to an end. So I ask you, Zala Azikiwe, are you ready to take on the problems of Wakanda? Are you ready to be a Queen?"
"Yes, Queen Mother. I want to be by T'Challa's side for the rest of my days" She says.
"Thank you, Princess" Ramonda says.
With that, Zala bows and walks out of the room, shutting the door behind her. She had begun to look for Okoye because she had no idea where her room was. Her clothes were wherever that was and she was ready to change. T'Challa had appeared before Okoye did.
"My King" Zala bowed. "Stop it" T'Challa smiled, touching her arm. "Did you speak to your father?" She asks. "Yes, He was very insightful. It helped very much" He said as they began to walk. "That's very good" Zala smiled.
Just as they began to walk away, Okoye came from around the corner.
"Princess Zala, your room is ready" She says.
How coincidental, Zala thinks to herself.
"The Princess will be staying in my quarters, thank you" T'Challa says. Okoye smirked at Zala. When T'Challa looked at her, she stopped. "Yes, my King. I shall move her bags" She said before turning away.
Within minutes, Zala's things were in T'Challa's quarters. His room was exquisite. The bedroom was the shape of a large circle with a black and green patterned floor. A large sheer black canopy covered his bed. The bed was also black and had small gold details engraved. On one end of the room was the bathroom and on the other, his closet. Zala had forgotten what living like royalty was like since she had been living in one of the villages. She changed out of her two piece dress into a patterned one shoulder pant suit. Her hair had been loosened from the braids they were formally in and let down.
"Come, let's take a walk" T'Challa spoke.
The two ventured into the streets below the Kingdom. Two of the Dora walked a few feet behind them. It had been so long since she had seen the city life of Wakanda. She must have looked like a little kid, smiling and speaking to everyone. T'Challa watched her with a smile on his face.
