Soo...I'm quite enjoying writing this story! :) Please let me know what you  think!

I woke up with a jump, sitting up straight in bed. The body next to me stirred from the sudden movement. I felt a pair of arms wrap around me and a chin rested on my shoulder.

“You okay?” the husky voice asked.

“Yeah Louis, just the dream again,” I said shakily.

He kissed my cheek gently before pulling me down into his arms, my head tucked under his chin.

I have the same dream every night. Although, it’s not a dream, it’s a memory. I keep reliving the night my parents were massacred by a……..vampire. I didn’t learn what had killed them until the police found their bodies completely drained of blood and tortured. That was the day that I vowed to kill any vampires I came across. I want to rid the world of them. I’ve never found out how I got to the police station though, I only remember blacking out and waking up there. I didn’t start hunting vampires until a certain group of people saved me from the orphanage.

Louis, Holly, Liam, and Jack were only 18 when they took me from the orphanage at the age of 16. They had heard about that horrible incident so long ago from the townspeople and wanted to take me in. They became my best friends, but also trained me in the art of hunting vampires, fulfilling my wish to avenge my parents. We know live in an old house outside of London, and Liam works at a music store to keep the bills paid.

Yeah, the police told the town my parents had been murdered by a serial killer. The world doesn’t know about vampires and the government wants to keep it that way. Now, I, Ariana Elizabeth Doden, am 22 and the others are 24 years old.

No, Louis is not my boyfriend. We’re simply just friends with benefits. It’s been going on for a solid year now, and we promised not to develop romantic feelings for each other. In our line of work, there’s no time for real relationships.

Just after Louis and I had fallen back asleep, the alarm clock went off, jolting us awake again.

“Come on, Lou. It’s 11 already,” I said.

No, not 11 a.m, 11 p.m. If we want to catch the vampires in the act, we have to go out at night.

“No, 10 more minutes,” he muttered into the pillow.

“You better hurry! Or I’ll just take Jack instead,” I threatened.

“You wouldn’t!” said Louis, sitting up and pouting like a child.

“Oh, but I would! I haven’t had quality time with Jack in so long,” I said.

“Fine,” he grumbled. “I’m coming.”

After getting ready quickly and grabbing an apple from the fruit bowl, I walked into the garage and grabbed 3 wooden stakes for my bag and my gun just in case. I grabbed Louis’ stuff for him too and met him at the front door where he was slipping on his Tom’s.

“Do you want to split up tonight?” he asked.

“Sure, we’ll cover more ground that way,” I said.

Louis pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly.

“Be safe,” he whispered in my ear.

“You too,” I said hugging him back.

As soon as we broke apart, we set off in our different directions, heading out into dark downtown London. I walked for about a mile before anything happened.

A scream echoed from the alleyway to my left.

“Well, here goes nothing.”
