Wizarding with Sakura and Wanda: Year 1

Sakura gets a letter

Sakura woke up by hitting her head on the short ceiling of her room. It was a normal everyday thing, she would wake up with a start and get her head knocked against the dusty ceiling.

She slept in a cupboard, almost growing too big for it, because her family was extremely poor.

Sakura rubbed her forehead and threw open the cupboard doors with bleary eyes. She could hear faint hooting coming from the outside of her house, but didn't pay much attention towards it.

Her parents were already up making a pitiful breakfast, just bread, when Sakura went to grab a cup of water she saw a dozen owls outside the window.

Having to just woken up, she couldn't process anything well at that moment.

"Why are there so many owls at this time of day?" Her mother asked, staring outside the window.

Sakura slowly munched down on Her piece of bread, processing what was going on. As she swallowed the last bite, her brain started functioning again. "Why are there owls outside?"

She quickly got up and open the windows to take a closer look when suddenly one of the owls flew into the house. A brown owl dropped a letter onto the table that had a wax seal on it.

The seal caught Sakura's attention as she was pretty sure those aren't used anymore these days. She flipped the letter over to see her name and address, it even had the place where she slept written down.
"Sakura, 9 meme street, the cupboard under the stairs."

Her parents looked at each other worryingly as Sakura flipped open the letter to see an acceptance letter to a place called "Hogwarts", begins was a booklist of things that were strangely related to magic and witchcraft. She looked up from the letter with a puzzled look.

But before she could open her mouth to say anything, there was a knock on the door, Sakura's mother got up to answer it but as the person knocked again, the door fell down, revealing an old looking lady with a wizard hat and robes. She smiled sweetly and asked, "May I come in?"

Sakura's mother stared at the broken door, then at the lady, cautiously asking, "Who are you?"

"I'm a professor at Hogwarts, Minerva McGonagall. I'm here to escort your daughter to Diagon Alley to buy her school's supplies. May I come in?"

The whole room went silent, Sakura's father managed an "Ok" before the witch walked in. She took out her wand and said, "Allow me to fix this door."with a flick of her wand and a silent spell, the door repaired itself.

Sakura gaped and stared in awe at the magic McGonagall performed, the professor noticed her reaction and turned towards her, "If you come to Hogwarts, you'll learn spells like these too."
