•chapter 9• {Safe and Sound}

Tom's POV:

I woke up from a noise I heard it wasn't groaning sounds from the zombies but a soft tune of guitar music. I checked the time seeing that it was 4 in the morning, I didn't want to check where the sound was coming from at first since I was kind of lazy and half asleep but curiosity had got best in me.

I got up from my spot and started walking to the soft sound tone of the guitar music I was hearing then a voice was heard, she was singing softly with the tune she was playing.

"I remember tears steaming down your face
When I said I'll never let you go"

I started to climb up the stairs then it lead me to the very top of this building, the wind blew coldly on my face but the cold never bothered me anyway as I heard (Y/N) sing beautifully with half of the moon shining down on her some morning stars were out as she kept on strumming her guitar she was sitting on a mattress looking down on her guitar.

"When all those shadow killed your light
I remember you said
Don't leave me here alone"

I smiled and decided to join her taking Susan from my back which I hadn't been playing for a while now and started strumming walking up to her and sitting down with her on the mattress. She noticed me and stopped strumming as she stared shock at me. I chuckled and continued singing her song while strumming Susan.

"But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight
Just close your eyes"

She started strumming again and sang smiling at me and I lidded my eyes on her as I heard her angelic voice sing.

The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
"You and I'll be safe and sound"

We stopped strumming at stared at each other I wanted to lean in but I stopped myself not wanting to force her from kissing me, I wanted for her to kiss me. She blushed darkly and place down her guitar besides her while I put Susan back on my back.

3rd Person's POV

"W-what are you doing here??" She asked stuttering.
"I heard singing so why not follow the melodic music and angelic voice?" Tom said smiling down at the blushing girl.

(Y/N) sighed and smiled at the boy that was next to her she felt her chest tighten but tried to hide it not wanting to get their situation more embarrassing than it is.

"Sorry for waking you up I guess" she said shrugging.
"Nah thanks for waking me up, your voice was really beautiful" Tom told her smiling.
She scoffs then smiles "Thanks for the false compliment"

The wind blew again but it didn't affect the two it just gave out a really good affect as it blew (Y/N)'s bangs to the side.

"You know I wasn't lieing, Your voice was really beautiful I didn't expect for a pretty girl like you could be a tough guy like the so called 'Curt' you used" Tom said taking out his flask from his hoodie pocket and took a swig.

(Y/N) blushed and rolled her eyes, she then stared at the flask that Tom was circling on his hand after taking a big sip from it.

"Vodka?" (Y/N) asked pointing at his flask.
Tom glanced at her then back on his drink "yeah" he answered.
"Can I have some?" She asked tilting her head to the side.
"Sure, here go bonkers" Tom said giving her his flask.

(Y/N) took a long swig and sigh. Her lungs burned a bit but got satisfied as it heated her body. Tom stared at her as she stared on the flask she was holding, he then blushed after realizing that they had drank on the same lid which the only lid on the flask causing them to have an indirect kiss.

"Finest Smirnoff just the way I like it" (Y/N) said smiling at the flask felling a bit tipsy but not drunk.
Tom chuckled trying to cover up the blush "how long did you slept anyway?" He asked staring at her.
"Not much maybe only 3 hours or 4...I don't know I just woke up all of a sudden it's like someone was watching me..." (Y/N) shivered holding the flask infront of her.
"Must be just your imagination" Tom said taking his flask from her capping it close.
"Yeah...must be" (Y/N) muttered.

Silence had wrapped around them as (Y/N) sighs, Tom then gets up and stretches.

"Welp let's head down and hunt for food, unless you don't want to?" Tom said looking at the (h/c).
"Nah I'm coming just let me get my stuff and protection" (Y/N) said getting up.
"The beanie and mouth guard?" Tom asked raising a brow.
"What else?" (Y/N) said rolling her eyes.

Tom chuckled and they both walked down stairs chatting a bit. Getting on the 2nd floor (Y/N) glanced at the clock seeing it was 5 am in the morning, and a sleeping Matt cuddling his pillow with drool all over his cheek  cute (Y/N) thought smiling at the ginger sleeping beauty slobber face Tom thought rolling his eyes .

"Should we wake him up?" (Y/N) asked pointing at Matt.         
"Nah, let him sleep or else we'll be ruining his so called 'beauty rest' that he whines all the time" Tom says sarcastically on the last part.
"You sure? maybe when we get back he might be whining about being alone getting his 'beauty rest' over due" (Y/N) said snickering.
"he'll get over that easily than waking him up in early morning trust me I've been there and done that" Tom told the girl before she could even poke Matt on the cheek.
"what if he gets attacked?" she asked smiling at him with lidded eyes.
"weren't you the one who said that this place was safe in the first place?" Tom asked raising a brow.
"yeah, but I never said that it was 100% safe from eaters" (Y/N) said quoting her fingers 

Tom rolled his eyes seeing her beanie and mouth guard then trowing it to her.

"Just shut up and put that on so we can go" Tom said getting impatient as he tapped his foot.
"Fine, but you're going to deal with him later" (Y/N) said putting on her beanie and mouth guard.
"Don't I always?" He asked shrugging.

(Y/N) chuckled and got her backpack putting it on and readying her gun.

"You bring too much stuff" Tom said pointing at her back pack.
"And you complain too much" (Y/N) fired back.
"Yeah right tomboy, let's quit nagging  and just go" Tom sighed dragging her to the outside.
"WAIT THE STAIRS! LET ME WALK!"
