Chapter Three

I am nearly late to everything. You name it: field trips, banquets, honors nights, and sadly church. Pretty much anything else but school, thanks to Kelsey.

I always shower and get dressed on time, but when it comes to leaving the house, it's a real trouble.

"Marie!" My mom yelled from the stairs while I was straightening my hair.

"Coming!" I yelled in between pressing. I never rush straightening my hair. A lot of things go wrong when I rush.

"How much longer?" Mom asked impatiently ."If we don't leave now, you will be late for your flight."

"Just this last part. Ok?" I said agitated. Ugh! I couldn't press my hair faster if my life depended on it.

As soon as I finished, I grabbed my loaded PINK travel bag from my room and headed down the stairs.

My mom was waiting impatiently at the front door.

"Got everything?" Mom asked tentatively.

"Yeah."

"Ok! Lets go."

To my surprise, we reached the airport on time.

As soon as I boarded the flight, I put my things away and slumped down my seat. We woke up pretty early just to make this flight.

What up girly? -Kesley

I was just dowsing off to sleep when my phone buzzed in my pocket.

Nothing much. Just tired. Hbu?

As soon as we took off, I glanced at the Springs from the sky. My phone buzzed indicating another message.

Me and Grace are heading to The Promenade Shops At Briargate. -Kelsey

Kelsey loved to shop. If she wasn't with Grace or me, or busy doing her homework, she was shopping.

Ooh La La. They sell the best.

The Promenade Shops are famous for having cute designer stuff. High in quality and in price.

Ikr? Very à la mode. -Kelsey

I laughed. Kelsey took french in eighth grade but she hated it so much she switched to Spanish freshmen year.

Qu'est-ce que c'est ma amie?

I on the other hand, love French. I'm on my third year at Ridgeview.

As I glanced down the aisle way, I see a gray haired man with his head tilted up and his mouth hanging open.

I smile at him. My phone buzzes again.

Señorita, I have no clue what your talking about.

"Half an hour till we land in Philadelphia."

While me and Kelsey attempted to speak to each other in different languages, I watched Finding Nemo on my iPad.

By the time we got to Michigan, it was dark outside. The sun finally sinking into the horizon.

"We are staying in Novi,MI ." My dad bubbled to me while looking at a map.

We are in a navy blue SUV we rented from the airport. It was comfortable for eight, but Dad had always preferred trucks.

"How long from here?" I asked tired.

"We got an hour and a half kiddo." Dad said.

To pass time, I asked my Dad questions.
