CHAPTER EIGHT
2ND POV

"Being a Decepticon is a choice, Agent Fowler, one that I have a hard time believing Optimus would make at any point in his life," Ratchet explained to the dark skinned government agent.

You stood next to your sire with Team Prime gathered around you and the computers. Your human friends stood on the walkway, staring up as they followed the conversation along.

"So if he's riding with the Cons . . ." Bulkhead began.

"It's because Megatron's working some kind of voodoo," Arcee concluded.

"Orion might not currently be an Autobot up here," You tapped your helm, "But I know for sure he'll never stop being one in here." You held your servo to your chassis and smiled hopefully. "We need to find him to know for absolute certain!"

"Hold up!" Fowler interrupted your sparkfelt mood. He stepped forwards. "I have a chip lodged in my behind that let's Uncle Sam know when I stop for donuts. Are you telling me you can't just track Prime?"

"Optimus' signal has not reappeared since he embarked for Earth's core," Ratchet informed the man, "but we must get to work finding him if we have any hope of initiating his contingency plan!"

"Contingency plan?" Arcee asked in confusion.

"What contingency plan?" Bulkhead inquired.

"Is that even a word?" Miko questioned.

"They keycard!" Jack spoke up in sudden realization. He fished it out of his pocket and held it up for all to see. "So, what's it do?"

"It gives you access to Vector Sigma, the one and only repository of wisdom of the Primes," You replied informatively.

"Is it some sort of super computer?" Rafael asked curiously.

"So we can just download Optimus' memories back into him?" The raven haired teenager's eyes lit up excitedly. "So, which ones the big 'V'? Over here? Somewhere in back?"

"Vector Sigma's a lot more than just a super computer, Jack," You told the boy nervously. You started biting and bruising your derma again. The joyful expression on his face dropped like a fainting girl.

"It is an ancient source of mystical power—awe in Cybertron," Ratchet quickly clarified his daughter's words.

"Jackson Darby, you will not be traveling to another planet!" June shouted at her son.

"I'm in!" Miko piped up.

"You're not going either, Miko," The mother replied sternly. "Not when one of you can." She glared harshly at the team of Cybertronians.

You and your teammates exchanged looks and glances.

"June's right," Fowler agreed. "Why send a boy to do a bot's job?"

"Because only a Prime can enter Vector Sigma . . ." The elderly medic started.

"Or, one chosen by a Prime," You finished. "Optimus gave the keycard to him specifically. Now, it's imprinted with his unique bio signature."

"So, you mean Jack's some kind of honorary Prime?" The Japanese girl inquired.

"Let's just say, Jack is the only one who can return Optimus to the Autobot we knew," Your sire sighed sadly (try saying that three times fast).
