CHAPTER NINE
2ND POV
4-19-18

Months.

You and Megatron had been running into each other for months.

There was nothing between the two of you, as far as you could tell.

His words from the other night didn't cease to confuse you though. 'Don't ask questions you already know the answer to.' What in the world was that supposed to mean? Why did the warmonger have to be so cryptic?

Did he—

Did Megatron find you intriguing? It was the only substantial reason you could come up with, and even then you were confused.

"-Y/N? Y/N, are you even listening?" You snapped back to the real world as focused on your sire, who stood next to you looking quite annoyed. You quickly realized you'd been caught up in your own thoughts, too busy to notice the test you were about to begin. Your faceplates flushes as bad as when Megatron teases you.

   Megatron.

"Sorry! Sorry, sorry . . ." You laughed nervously, mentally kicking yourself for nearly doing it again. His features softened. You could still see guilt in his optics for what he'd done the previous night.

"Are you still-" Angry, he was going to say. You knew it. You could feel how sorry he was through the bond. You sent him emotions and an expression that told him it was alright, you forgave him! It did little to improve his mood.

Rafael stood a couple paces in front of you and the doctor. He had a black toy car with bright green racing stripes. The controller was in his hands, ready for action. Right, you scolded yourself for forgetting, you were testing your soon-to-be-space-bridge ground-bridge.

"As I was saying," Ratchet grumbled, "I have doubts whether our recalibrations have successfully extended ground-bridge range, but there is only one way to find out." He reached out to his right and pulled down the lever that activated the bridge. It came to life with the bright blues and greens and purples. The young boy drove the toy car into the bridge.

"Come on, come on!" You urged the inanimate object. An excited smile was on your faceplates, as well as a confident shine in your optics as you bounced up and down. Small bolts of electricity zapped across the car, and seconds later, it burst into pieces. You let out a disappointed moan. Your sire let out an exasperated groan.

"It was just the first try," Raf attempted to comfort your parent as he turned around.

"No Rafael, it was pure folly—a misguided act of desperation. It takes eons to master space-bridge engineering." He turned around, clutching his fists. "And no one is more accomplished than the Decepticons." You stared at the medic, sparkbroken that he would give up so easily, but all you got back was his hopelessness. You didn't know at all what to say.

"You know, there's this thing in gym class where you have to climb a rope—all the way to the ceiling. It's really hard, and I've never been able to do it. But, when I told Bee about it, he believed in me, which made me practice a ton! Finally, just a couple of weeks ago, made it to the top!" Rafael explained happily. You, optimistic little you, got what the boy was alluding to. Apparently, your sire did not.

"What does any of this have to do with gym class?!" Ratchet yelled in annoyance. The boy jumped back in surprise.

"I-I just-I wa-" Raf stuttered nervously. "I'll just go." The child walked off, feeling scared and dejected.

"Sire! What in the world was that for? He was only trying to help," You asked anxiously. He sputtered and rolled his optics, turning back around to face you. Thus, the one-sided yelling match began, with you growing more and more terrified as his voice grew incrementally louder.
