Matthew took a deep breath as he stepped out his front door. Waking up from his bed to ending up outside the front door was all a blur. Everything has become a blur since the other day. Matthew hadn't even checked his phone to see his text messages. He didn't know what to feel anymore. He felt disappointed at himself, upset that he essentially cheated on his brand new boyfriend. He was depressed that he was so shy and hadn't made any moves in the beginning. Disgusted that he wasn't able to push away his feelings even after confessing. Wishing he could have it both ways, but right now it isn't the greatest time to think about this. Matthew had to get to the bus. Alfred had gone to a friend's house and got a ride from them. It was going to be a cold day, and not in the temperature way. "Mattie," his boyfriend's low voice came up behind him as he made his way to the stop. Matthew's hair stood up and he nearly punched Matt. "Matt! Hey don't scare me like that, I could have hurt you," Matthew said. "You didn't respond to any of my messages, sorry if I was worried..." Matt, who was standing above Matthew, put his right arm around Matthew's shoulder. "Babe, is everything alright? Are you weirded out about before?" Matthew was trying to avoid his gaze. His guilt was swelling in his chest, he wanted to burst out in tears shouting 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry,' but he couldn't. "No no, Alfred beat me in my favorite video game last night.." Matthew lied again, he didn't like lying, or keeping secrets. He was bad at both things. Matt believed him, this made Matthew feel even more like a lying idiot. Matthew looked up seeing his best friend Destiny, with Gilbert to her left. Matthew and Gilbert made split eye contact, their gaze quickly turned to something else. The atmosphere felt tense, awkward, and Destiny wasn't liking it one bit. "Oh gosh, Mr. Keplin's darn cooking club is so pointless," she said trying to crack the tension. "Yeah, haha, it is pointless," Matthew half-heartedly chuckled. Matt could feel the area's tension increase so he made a quick plan. "Hey, Destiny could I talk with you on the bus, alone?" A dark chill went down Matthew's back. 'No no, what is He going to do...' Destiny responded. "Sure I guess? I kinda wanted to talk with you myself haha." Gilbert hadn't said a single word, which wasn't anything he would normally do. Destiny picked up on this fact and turned to him. "Hey Gil, you ok? You've been pretty quiet today, its not like you. Are you sick?" Gilbert smiled as strongly as he could, "Me? Sick? I could never get sick, I'm too good for sickness." Even though you could hear the bus slowly making its way down the street, it was beginning to feel like none of them would ever be freed from this awkward prison. Matthew was getting a bit anxious, his feet stepping around quickly while is mind raced. The bus finally pulled into the stop and Matthew was the first one on. He sat down in the first available spot, which was really only one spot. Since Matt and Destiny wanted to speak alone, they headed towards the back, holding onto the bars whilst they stood. Gilbert had only one spot to choose, and that was right in front of Matthew. It was dreaded but inevitable. Gilbert stood over Matthew, their faces turned in opposite directions. "Hey..." Gilbert said, trying to pop this awkward bubble that is expanding with each passing minute. "I'm going to say this only once-" Matthew was going to cut off what happened that time but Gilbert stopped him. "No, I don't want to forget it. I liked it. I know it was wrong and I'm sorry, but please. Maybe we can... just hang out or something. I like what we have." Matthew was shocked, he just sat there speechless. "I just, I don't want things to be awkward," Matthew stated. He looked up at Gilbert who was staring at him quite intensely. They looked into each other eyes and they both felt butterflies of joy. Gilbert nodded and Matthew smiled gently. "I want to kiss you right now but I know I cant." Gilbert said jokingly. Matthew forced a small chuckle, still feeling a bit awkward, but trying to loosen up. "They seem to have been talking for a while. Wonder what's up." Gilbert said, turning towards Destiny and Matt's direction. He waved at them and they waved back though their conversations. "After school today, you and I should go into the woods and hang out like before," Matthew laughed. He felt like he wanted to grow closer with Gilbert. Though his body wanted other things to happen, his mind and heart was racing at the thought of his soon to be friendship with Gilbert. Gilbert smiled and nodded. "Hey don't we have homework for Ms. Chiara?" Gilbert said, looking down at Matthew's backpack, which was sitting on his lap half open. "Yes, I already did it," Matthew said then paused. "Do you need it?" Matthew smiled slightly chuckling softly. Gilbert nodded and just smiled like an idiot. They both went quiet and Matthew looked up at Gilbert. Gilbert was looking away, presumably at Matt and Destiny, which set on a switch in Matthew's eyes. Everything was in slow motion, sparkles everywhere and the way the light shined on him, Gilbert was suddenly some foreign model in Matthew's sight. Matthew began to drool at Gilbert. No one noticed, except for us, because we're in the 4th wall.

The group eventually got off the bus, went to school, you know the boring old stuff that is mostly skipped during certain cartoons. The small group of four decided to walk home. Matt and Gilbert stood on the outsides whilst Matthew and Destiny had squished in the middle. Matthew's mind was racing, his heart was thumping. His new boyfriend had his arm around him and his childhood crush was only a few feet away, which he did previously kiss. He was going to hang out with Gilbert, in a more secluded area, and even though he didn't want anything to really happen, you can't stop the mind from dreaming. Matt kissed Matthew goodbye as he made his split off home. Destiny actually followed him which kinda concerned Matthew but only for a little bit. After walking in silence for a while Gilbert finally spoke, "so when do you think we should head over..." Matthew felts a slight grin in his cheeks. He threw himself into Gilbert's side head first, causing him to cough roughly. "How about now?" Matthew pulled his head back, looked at Gilbert, then turned his back toward Gilbert and made a quick dash into the bushes and trees that was beside them. The sun was setting pretty slowly and their houses weren't too far from where they were headed so when Matthew stopped for a breath, he realized that Gilbert wasn't seemingly behind him. "Gilbe-" Matthew was about to say, when a figure tackled him to the shrubs and forestry. Matthew opened his eyes to see Gilbert above him. Once again that cinematic scenario had begun to run wild in Matthew's brain. Matthew's hand reached up to Gilbert's face, cupping his cheek. Gilbert was taken back by the gesture, but he only leaned into it. For what felt like forever, they laid their, no words spoken, just them in this moment. "Matthew... can I kiss you?" Gilbert asked finally. Matthew stared at him, then shook his head. "I'm sorry for being such a tease," Matthew said. "Its just the way your face looks right now is beautiful." Gilbert smiled, thanking him, with a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you," Gilbert replied back. Matthew was startled by the kiss. "I'm sorry," Gilbert whispered. He leaned down and kissed Matthew's lips. Matthew unfortunately didn't put up much of a fight, kissing Gilbert back. Gilbert's hand reached from under Matthew, rolling them both over putting Matthew on top of Gilbert as they kissed. The setting sun was showing through the leaves, and it left the two in such a romantic scene, how could they not kiss. Matthew pulled away from a moment to look Gilbert. Eyes half lidded, Gilbert's normally red eyes, had a sort of violet shine in the moment, which totally left Matthew breathless. Matthew quickly scrambled off of Gilbert, snapping him out of the trance he was in. "Woah, wait wait no. Not again." He said, shaking his head. Gilbert sighed quietly. "I just wanted to kiss you. I just want to hug you and I just want to make you mine but I can't." Matthew sat idly by, shocked at what was unfolding before him. "I just wanted things to go back to normal, me poking fun at you, Destiny smiling and screaming loudly at me to stop. I just want things to stay the same but it won't." Gilbert's eyes began to swell with tears. "Why won't you just, listen to me? I just wanted to hug you and be your one lover but all I can get is a small peck before you scoot away from me." Matthew's throat began to swell up, he wanted to say something but nothing was coming out of his mouth. "How can we be together? I want you all to myself. I'm selfish, can I be this way? We aren't even dating but I'm jealous over it. I'm jealous he can publicly kiss you! I'm jealous you're in a relationship. Though, its with someone who looks way too close and sounds way too similar to you." Gilbert's voice was slowly getting quieter as he cried and sniffled. "Just... stop messing with my feelings." Matthew twitch, "you're the one who kissed me first!" Gilbert stopped sniffling. "You're the one who let me continue!" He yelled back. He stood to his feet. "No, you know what, maybe we can't even be friends. I'm breaking my heart over someone who won't even notice the fact that I'm so desperate over them, I'll make them cheat on their own boyfriend." Matthew stayed sitting on the floor, still shocked. "Matthew, I'm sorry, I'm making you irresponsible, just, go to Matt's house or go home." Before Matthew could say anything, Gilbert quickly ran off into the bushes.

Matthew sat there, still looking where Gilbert had ran off. He began to feel tears form in his eyes but his mouth still hung open. He then curled into a small ball and cried. He cried and cried and cried. He never went home that night.

Sorry its a shorter chapter, I kinda rushed the end here. I wanted to post something. Haha. Lets see if I can try to make a loop hole here smh.
