Chapter 11: Now what...

Matthew opened his eye, his hand on his head and his blanket on only his foot. It had been a few weeks since the ordeal with Matt, Gilbert and Destiny had gone down. Destiny was always trying to contact Matthew. Texting him consistently even though Matthew never tried to give a reply back. Matt for a while, had tried to apologize but Matthew didn't reply to that either. He had talked with Kelsey and Alice a few times during those weeks but he eventually stopped just to get some time to himself.  What Gilbert had said had been bugging him for weeks. Gilbert and Matthew had been hanging out much more frequently but this time he needed to just think things through. The man of his fantasies was giving himself up to Matthew, but he just got out of a complicated relationship with his ex-boyfriend. He turned to his phone which laid on his nightstand.

"400 messages from shitty friend"
"20 missed calls from shitty friend"

Matthew looked up at the ceiling. "I'm going to regret this." He looked back at his phone and grabbed it hesitantly. Opening the phone, he called "shitty friend."

It rang for a second before it was picked up.

There was silence between both of them, neither one of them said a word.

"Matthew, I want to speak with you in person please." Destiny finally said. Her voice sounds rushed and with desperation. Matthew laid in quiet. He felt more anger bubble when he heard her voice.

"Just tell me here," He managed to say without yelling. "It hard just listening to your voice, seeing you would be a mess."

Destiny sighed with relief. "I'm so sorry, it was never mean't to be this way Matthew. I didn't want this. He's so manipulative." Matthew felt a small growl in his voice.

"If I'm saying something wrong please correct me Matthew. I need you to fix my mistakes." Destiny spoke. Matthew sighed and said "You're not wrong continue..."

Destiny's voice started to sound like she was crying. "Please forgive me Matthew. He wanted to know what type of relationship you and Gilbert had. He was trying to get it out of me through means I didn't feel comfortable with." Matthew began to be confused. "What.. I clearly saw you too having such a wonderful time together! Even when we were on the bus together, you were smiling and giggling!" Matthew was now becoming filled with rage and confusion.

"I know! He's so large Matthew. He was threatening me, I was scared." Destiny sounded like she was becoming serious but still her emotions felt sadden. "I was just trying to get things over with. I was going to tell you as soon as he stopped. I wanted to tell you Matthew. I wanted to shout at you for help but I couldn't." Matthew sighed. He wanted to believe her. "Destiny, I want to believe you." "Matthew, I want this to go over us. I want things to be normal again." Matthew winced, he had heard that before.

"Nothing will be normal after this."
"Matthew can I ask you something?"
"Destiny, do you really have the right to ask? I thought this was your apology call?"
Destiny's end went quiet. She sighed heavily. "No Matthew I don't have the right, but did you really cheat on Matt with Gilbert?" Matthew felt his blood run cold. He had forgotten that he shouted that out right before leaving. "Yes..." Both ends went quiet.

"Let me say this Destiny. I'm sorry about that, but I was just about to stop it with Gilbert but then I had walked in and seen that. I was furious, even with no right to be." Matthew felt himself stumble on his words. His anger was getting to him. "I went back home, went into Gilbert's house and we made out. I stayed the night and we discussed things over." Matthew could feel Destiny's tension.

"Gilbert and I will most likely be starting a relationship once I feel right with myself. You're out of the picture for Gilbert." Destiny whispered under her tears. "I know, he had messaged me that night... He told me about his great night with you and how he's disgusted by my actions. His words hurt me but I'm happy for you guys." Her smiled could be felt through the phone.
