The next week, Alex went back to school and John went to Thomas' house. He got to the door and opened it. Thomas turned around and saw John walk in.
"Hey, baby!" Thomas exclaimed as he walked over to hug him.
"Hey, Babe," John stood on his tip toes to reach Thomas' lips and kissed him.
"Where's Alex?" Thomas asked.
"He felt ready to go back to school so, I let him," John spoke.
"That's good," Thomas walked over to the couch and laid down. John lay right next to him and they watched TV. After a half an hour of watching funny cat fail videos on TV, they fell asleep. Thomas woke up about three hour later and John was still sleeping. He woke John up and they both had a cup of coffee. John sat on the couch and sipped his coffee but he seemed upset.
"What's wrong baby?" Thomas sat on the couch in front of John.
"I'm worried Thomas," John said.
"Why are you worried, John?" Thomas asked. They both set their coffee on the coffee table in front of them. Thomas grabbed his hands and ran his thumbs lightly over them.
"What if Alex actually kills himself?" John looked up at Thomas and tears started pouring from his eyes.
"Baby don't cry! It will be okay, I promise," Thomas was also worried about Alex. What if something actually happened to Alex? What if one day he just snaps?
"Babe, can I tell you something?" John asked.
"Of course, John you can tell me anything!" Thomas exclaimed.
"About three weeks ago, Alex tried...hanging himself," John spoke.
"No."
"Yes."
"You are kidding, right?" Thomas teared up.
"I wish I was Thomas," John said hugging Thomas and sobbing.
"Oh my god, he actually tried to com-,"
"Yes, Thomas," John interrupted Thomas before he could finish his sentence. Thomas started breaking down into an ocean of tears. John hugged him and kissed his forehead.
"Why, baby?" Thomas asked.
"I don't know, Thomas. If I felt his pain then I would tell you," John said.
"Can we take him to a counselor or something?" Thomas suggested.
"I already asked him and he just shrugged his shoulders," John explained.
"Why is Alex so complicated?" Thomas asked.
"I don't know babe," John replied. Thomas grabbed his phone searched for counselors in the area. They found one that was a mile from Thomas' house. They looked through her information and what days she was available. Then they called.
"Hello, I would like to book an appointment for my boyfriend on the sixteenth of July," Thomas spoke to the person the other end.
After setting up the appointment, John and Thomas had a drawing contest. They agreed that they both have good art even though both of them knew John was better. Then they just talked about boyfriend stuff. After all that talking they were doing John didn't realize that Alex was supposed to be home any minute. John kissed Thomas and said goodbye. He drove back to see Alex. He pulled into the drive way and got out of the car. He ran inside to make sure Alex wasn't self harming. He walked in to see Alex sitting at the table doing his homework. They stared at each other.
"Hey babe, Whatcha doin?" John asked.
"Where were you?" Alex questioned John.
"I was hanging out with Thomas," John replied.
"How is he?" Alex asked.
"He's good!" John exclaimed.
"I'll miss him," Alex whispered.
