I was walking home, after refusing to ride with Noah. People would talk. I switched my phone on, smiling at the five missed calls fron my friends and six calls and two texts from Meredith. I felt flattered that they cared but I ignored that feeling and checked the two messages from Meredith.
From: Meredith
Where are you? Answer!
From: Meredith
Answer me for God's sakes.
That was a pathetic excuse of portraying a concerned guardian. I know she could care less about me. I finally reached home, slowly closing the door behind me and snuck upstairs to change. As I walked in the bedroom I stopped in my tracks at the sight in front of me. Oh.
"D-Delia!" Jubilee jumped off from Valerie as they were locking lips on the bed.
Well that was the last thing I expected. "Um, hi."
"I can explain." Jubilee landed on her feet looking at me with begging eyes.
"There's nothing to explain," I shrugged. "I'm not your boyfriend." Good, make her guilty about kissing another girl behind her boyfriend's back. Who was dead. Yes, that was my reaction when I found out Andrew and Jubilee were dating. It was am on-and-off thing apparently. I wondered when people would find out about the dead body rotting in the bedroom of a public house.
"I'm so sorry. Please just don't tell anyone."
I nodded making her sigh in relief and pack her books in her bag. She refused to look at Valerie but I did and boy did Valerie look guarded. She knew there was a catch. I smiled once we heard the door downstairs shut.
"Go ahead." Valerie said, she sure was a no-nonsense girl.
"You know me so well, Val." I said sweetly. But I cut to the chase. "I'll keep your little secret if you back me up with Meredith. Tell her I slept over Christina's or something."
She smirked, "Let me guess, you slept over a guy's place."
I only raised an eyebrow.
She gave in, "Fine. Deal." And that was it.
I mentally thanked Noah's idea of blackmailing. I need to dig deep into people's secrets. I love the sense of power.

A few hours, I hear the door shut and Meredith's voice travelled upstairs. She was clearly on the phone. That was my cue. I went downstairs, standing in Meredith's sight. She noticed me and told whoever she was talking to that she'd call them back.
"Where were you?" She demanded.
"I slept over Christina's."
"Then why didn't you answer your calls?" She was angry.
"My battery died and Christina didn't have a charger for a Blackberry."
"Well you could've called me with her phone,"
"I'm sorry, I forgot." I made myself sound genuine but I was beyond annoyed.
"Well to remember you're not going out for two weeks."
Bitch. I seethed. "Okay." I looked at her in the eye and I could tell how much that pissed her off. Adults hate it when you look them in the eyes. Well most of them.
I turned around and headed upstairs and passed Valerie as she went down.
I heard Meredith murmur to Valerie, "Was she being honest? Did she really sleep over Christina's."
There was a long pause and then Valerie finally responded. "Yeah."
She was a shit liar but Meredith actually believed her so I was satisfied. She kept her part of the deal. Too bad I wasn't as loyal as she thought I was.
[[a/n: wow this sucked, i thought it would be more pleasant. anyway, i'm supposed to study but meh. enjoy your day, xx!]]
