~a week later~

a week had passed and i was devastated. my friends helped me pack my stuff into the van.

i gave them all hugs as they surrounded me with tears.
"bye, Kat. bye, Lainee. bye, Austin..." a tear slipped from my eye as i climbed into the back seat of our van.

i closed the door and we drove off. soon enough, i cried myself to sleep.

~in New Jersey~

"Miley, miles!" my dad shook me awake and i turned to my other side, moaning.

"Miles, we're here." my mom whispered.

i fluttered my eyes opened.
the house that stood before me was gorgeous if i had to tell the truth. it was two story. it was brick on the outside, the yard surrounded by a white fence.

i sighed as i grabbed my bags and stepped out the van.

~after unpacking~

it took five hours to get unpacked but i finally unloaded my last box.

i laid on my bed and took a deep breath. i start school in two days. it was Saturday.

i looked through my closet and realized i needed new clothes.

"mom!" i called as i walked downstairs.

"yes, honey?" she was unpacking vases and setting them in the kitchen.

"i'm going to the mall, can i borrow some money?" i had some but i didn't feel like spending it.

my mom sighed and grabbed her wallet. she slipped $250 across the table. "use it wisely." she said.

i smiled, ran outside, and jumped into the front seat of my car that got towed here.

i drove to the mall and slowly got out, walking in. it wasn't like the mall back in Arkansas. it was much bigger.

i looked around and found myself searching in Victoria's Secret. after a while, i bought a pearl colored spaghetti strap crop top with a long sleeve vest type thing and white shorts. i also bought a golden necklace that said "love" on it. that spent $100. i could wear this on my first day.

i bought a few more things from different stores and then went home.
