'And in my mind now I've been over this a thousand times
But it's almost over
Let's start over'------------------------------------------------------------------------
The past four days were not as normal as I'd like them to be. Luke, Michael, and Ashton have been over to Party House to help her move in. They'd come in every now and then to say their hellos and devour whatever was left in the fridge, but other than that, nothing. I have to say, it's finally grocery day since my fridge is basically empty and my cabinets looking almost as hollow. I sighed and looked at my phone, it's a reasonable time to go to the store, it's barely opening now. With that, I stood and shoved my feet into my boots before grabbing my car keys and wallet and setting off for the day.
Once I arrived to the store, I figured I could simply take my time, browse and pick and choose what I want to fill my cabinets with this time. I started with the necessities, eggs, milk, veggies, fruits, meats, you know the food groups before going up and down the aisle. Mindlessly wandering and grabbing every now and then, until I collided with another cart. The collision caused it to push back into my gut making me grunt.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, are you okay?" she asked frantically, rushing over to my side and lightly embracing my arm.
"Just peachy," I groaned, rubbing my abdomen. A small giggle and an 'uh-oh' certainly brought up my attention. She looked exactly like her mother, with big brown eyes, chubby cheeks, a buttoned nose, and a contagious smile.
"Who's this?" I asked absent-mindedly approaching her and poking at her stomach.
"Calum, meet my daughter, Hailey," she introduced, standing beside me, most likely watching over my actions with Hailey. I gently grabbed her hand and shook it before pressing my lips to her small fist.
"It's nice to meet you," I smiled before continuing to play with the giggly child. Hailey grabbed at my cheeks then ears, before deciding that pulling my hair is where it's at.
"Hailey, no baby, you're going to hurt him," she gently scolded, taking Hailey's hands out of my hair.
"I'm sorry about her, she likes to grab things," she said before giving Hailey a toy from her bag.
"It's fine, she's adorable,"
"Thanks," she blushed before twisting the ring on her finger.
"So, where's the father?" I asked, the question has been gnawing at me for the past couple of days. She immediately frowned and looked at Hailey who was mindlessly playing with the toy.
"He uhm- he's hopefully somewhere far away," she mumbled before looking at the shelves and grabbing the Hot Cheetos behind me.
"Why don't you come over tonight, I can make dinner," I suggested.
"I don't have anyone to watch over Hailey," she noted most likely in attempt to decline my offer.
"She's always welcome, I'll have dinner made for us, even something good for her,"
"Oh, okay, I will see you then," she said before starting to push the car away.
"Wait, I never got your name," I said placing a hand on her shoulder which made her instantly rigged, once I took my hand away and she let out a soft sigh.
"My name is Luna," she said, holding her slightly shaky hand out, which I took gently and shook.
"Well, I will see you tonight for dinner Luna," I smiled causing her to blush even more. I turned towards Hailey who was making grabby hands towards me before once again pressing my lips to her small hand.
