I opened the front door of my house to find my dad sitting on the couch, and staring off into space with his hand covering his eyes.
"Dad, what's wrong," I asked, walking towards him.
"Mom and I will talk about it when she comes in here," He said, his voice cracking.
I instantly knew it was bad news.
My mom walked in the house.
"Mom, whats wrong with dad?" I asked.
She walked to the couch, and sat down with my dad and I.
"Abby, I don't know how to say this but," She paused.
"What?" I asked, softly.
"Your dad and I are...no longer being together,"
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Your dad is getting an apartment, we're getting di-divorced," My mom said crying.
"No, no! Please, please don't!" I said.
"I'm so-"
I ran up to my room, crying, and slammed the door.
I plopped onto my bed, screaming and crying, "It's not fair! It's not fair!"
But for a second, something was wrong. My breathes were fast, and not at a normal pace. Then I realized something:
I couldn't breathe.
