"Neil, you are such a good driver!" Ansh exclaimed as they got out of the car. The Mehta's have reached to Scotland and just drove in to their hotel. He gave a fist bump to Neil, and hurried to help Zarah with the twins. Neil walked to the opposite side of the car and opened the door of the backseat. Avni was sleeping like a baby, tucked under a blanket. Strands of hair falling onto her face, covering her already red nose tip. Neil smiled and lowered his head a bit. He caressed on the side of her face, "Hey..". Avni's eyebrows moved and she opened her eyes. Neil gave her a warm smile. "We've reached." Avni tried to straighten herself but her body ached so badly. "I have a bad headache. And my whole body is stiff." She mumbled, barely audible for Neil. "Oh.. lets go in and get warm then." Neil helped her to get out on to her feet, wrapped an arm around her waist and walked to the entrance. "I was coming to find you both!" Zara said, as she saw Neil and Avni. "Your sister was sleeping at the backseat." Neil teased and received a punch by Avni, simultaneously. Three of them bursted into laughs.
Avni was lying down on the couch of Ansh and Zara's room until her room was being prepared by the Hotel. There was a problem with the booking, so it got messed up. She watched the twin play on the floor, Zara sat next to them. "Neil is very sweet, isnt he?" Zara said, grinning widely. Avni turned to look at her. "Thats like asking the defence lawyer whether his client is innocent!" Avni's reply bursted Zara into fits of laugh! "Point! Haha!... but he really is. Good choice, Avi." Avni gave a smile to her sister-in-law. Neil opened the door at then and whistled, gesturing Avni that the room was ready. "What kinda creature are you? That whistles to his own wife?" Zara teased him openly. "A cockatoo perhaps," Neil replied with equal sarcasm. Avni threw the cushion at him and laughed. She squished her nieces before leaving.
Neil turned off the lamp at his side of the bed. He ran his hands on the side of the face to the jawline and stretched his body. Avni was already asleep beside him, Neil was working on a few investigation documents. He closed the laptop and kept it on the side table and slipped under the blanket. Neil was about to roll on to his side, he thought he heard Avni mutter something. Neil looked at her, Avni was hugging her hands to her chest, her body trembling a bit. Neil moved closer and saw her face and lips were all red. "Avni..?" Neil touched her forehead and pulled his hand instantly! Avni was burning with fever. "Avni!" Neil shook her a bit to wake her up. Avni slowly opened her eyes. "You have high fever..!" Neil straightened himself to a sitting position. "I knew you werent feeling well when you didnt take your dinner properly.." he mumbled and got out of bed. Neil opened the kit Avni had packed the night before and pulled out some pills. "Let's take this.." he helped her to get up and Neil gave her medicine himself. Avni groaned as the blanket slipped a bit. She quickly got down and wrapped it around her body. Neil shook his head and got up. He kept the empty glass and took a pack of juice from the mini bar, intending to give it to Avni after a while, when its temperature lowers. He got into bed, Avni again draped the blanket more. "Come, I'll hug you." Neil moved close but Avni hesitated. "No noo. My body aches so badly.." she cried. "I'll hug you, but you wont hug me back." She made a puppy face and Neil laughed. He lifted up his hand as a surrender. "Okayy, fine." Avni quickly wrapped her hands and legs around Neil, resting her head on his chest. Neil couldnt help but gently laid a hand on her waist, and caressed on her hair and forehead with the other hand.
The following day was so painful for Avni. Her whole body was sore, although fever was a bit better. She forced the others to go out and explore places even if she couldnt join. Neil also went out for a few hours, as Avni promised to call him if anything.
It was almost twilight when they returned to the Hotel. Neil checked on Avni, who was asleep and came down to the lounge, joining Joseph and Ansh. "Lets go to that bar.." Joseph whispered to Neil and Ansh. Neil's eyes widened. "What..?" He exclaimed. Ansh laughed out loud. "What what? Scared of your wife?" Joseph teased Neil, who turned red in turn. He quickly shook his head. "Ansh?" Neil crooked an eyebrow. "I'm always get set and go!" His spirits shocked Neil. Ansh laughed out loud. "Dad is the coolest dad we can get! Nothing will happen, lets go!" Ansh whispered to Neil and pushed him towards the door, following Joseph.
Avni got up slowly and rested her head on the headboard of the bed. She was feeling better, except for the cold. Avni went into the washroom and changed into her pajamas, and freshen up a bit. She sat on the couch and was about to dial Neil, when he came in. "Can you lower the temperature? Its freezing!" Avni said to Neil, as he locked the door behind him. "No need of that, I am right here!" Neil said out loud, spreading his arms wide. Avni instantly knew something was wrong. She remained doubtful but Neil took slow steps towards her, stumbling a little. Avni got up from her seat in a jiffy. "Neil..? Are you drunk?" Avni's heart raced as she grabbed onto his shirt collar, trying to balance him. "Haha, had a r..really gootttime. With Dad and Ansh.." Neil laughed. Avni let out a huge sigh, she was at ease to know that Neil was with Joseph and Ansh only. "Yeah, I could see how good it was.." Avni rolled her eyes and tried to take Neil to bed. "Listen up, baby.." though he was drunk, his husky voice made Avni's stomach do flip flops. His hands slowly moved along her waist wrapping it tightly around her, pulling her to him. "The most beautiful woman I've ever seen.." Neil nuzzled all over Avni's face. "Neil.. you are drunk.." Avni said, trying to control her breath. Neil didn't listen to her, he was busy exploring her skin. Avni finally managed to push him away a bit, she grabbed his ear and lowered him to the couch. "Ouch!" Neil exclaimed. "Back to your senses now?" Avni let go of him, and caressed on his ear the next moment. Neil looked at her and pouted. "Who's a man who doesnt drink?" Neil replied and followed Avni, "haha go and change!" Avni smacked on his arm. Neil laughed and headed to the washroom.
He came back after a while and thumped onto bed next to her. Avni knew he was still under the effect, when Neil spooned her into his arms. He nuzzled on her neck and ran his leg on hers. "Remember I told you about Juhi?" Avni's eyes shot open. She recalled the night at Bali, when Neil told her about the girl. "Yeah?" Avni concentrated well, to hear what Neil says. "She.. she was the person I loved the moost! And I still do.." his voice was soft, but it made Avni's heart stop for a second. She turned her head slightly, and her eyes widened. Tears were rolling down Neil's cheek.
