Dresses for the girls, first Scarlet and then Lily.
Me and Scarlet ran around my room, getting ready for the night. She let me borrow one of her dresses and that was the most modest one, so I couldn't really complain. We each didn't like make up, so we only put on lipstick. Scarlet going a natural color and me going with a darker red.
Do we haaavvveee to go?
I smiled at my tiger, then me and Scarlet started down the stairs. Axel and Blake waited for us awkwardly. Axel wore a dark blue suit and black tie; Blake was the same thing, but you had to switch the suit colors to the tie. They both smiled seeing us, holding out and arm. I took Axel's while Scarlet took Blake's while we both rolled our eyes at the boys.
Here we go...Axel stopped in a parking space in front of a building with Midnight in lights above it. Music could be heard from miles.. Or maybe that was the supernatural hearing? But what were we doing here? "A new club that just opened up in town. We've all been dying to check it out." Said Blake, answering my unasked question like he had read my mind.
We started to the front of the line where a tall, muscular bodyguard stood with a clipboard. Though he may look all dangerous, he was simply another mutt that could be a pest. "Axel." The man says respectfully with a rough voice. I had no doubt that this was a pack member. "I can let you all through." We each nodded as we walked past him. The music was blasting and I couldn't help to get excited to dance.
Ugh.
Live a little, will yah?
I looked to the others. "The dance floor is calling my name.. So... Peace." I started making my way through the crowd, getting through quickly. I got to the center and started dancing with the rhythm. Soon enough, I'm in sync with the music with my eyes closed and a bright smile on my face. Lift my head to the ceiling and start twirling as the music keeps going on and on. I love music and dancing. It's one of my favorite things to do.
The music died down, coming to a halt after about two minutes. I look to see that I'm the only one left on the dance floor and everyone was watching, including my friends. I blush deeply, looking to the floor as people cheered me on. I move off the dance floor, avoiding my friends. The DJ has started up another song and it was like nothing had ever happened. I sat at a booth in the back corner to avoid the three people I came with, politely declining when a worker came over to ask if I wanted something to drink. But nope. They were now seated across from me in the booth.
"I probably got a little carried away with the dance. I won't do it again." I murmured, scratching the back of my neck awkwardly. I didn't mean to, the music just speaks to me.
Scarlet laughed, "What are you talking about? You were amazing!" She said in awe and I rolled my eyes.
"Yah! I didn't know you had such good moves!" Agreed Axel. Blake nodded in agreement with the two of them.
I shook my head with a smile and placed my forehead on the table. They started chatting of random things now. That's when I heard one of my favorite songs come on. The only problem was that it was a slow dance and people were getting into pairs.
"Can I take this dance, Scarlet?" I looked to see Blake standing holding out his arm to her. She giggled and nodded, then they were off. I think I even saw a blush blooming on her face..?
I turned to Axel, "Don't they make such a cute couple?"
He nodded, looking back to the crowd of people dancing. He then looked back nervously, "Do you want to go dance?"
I barely mauled over the question before nodding in approval. "Sure, why not?" We walked, side by side, to the dance floor. We got into position, then started swaying to the music together. "I used to love this song.. It was the song that was picked for my mom and dad's wedding. But.. That stopped after the divorce." He didn't say anything so I quickly added, "I shouldn't have said that. I didn't want an awkward silence and spoke befo-."
He stopped me by twirling me in circles which was not fair on my part. Even still, I couldn't help the giggle that left my lips. "I'm sorry for your parents divorce." He said quietly.
"Don't be. My father just wanted to get away since he couldn't see me being abused anymore, but he didn't take me with him. He deserved everything that happened to him." I said with a sigh.
He growled at this and I kicked him in the shin to stop him from growling more. There were humans in the room and they would notice that a human growling didn't really make sense.. On the other hand, most were probably drunk anyway. "Hey!"
"Shh!" I said, laughing. My laughing stopped when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned to see a man I didn't know. I think he was a security guard with the uniform he was in. Wolf, might I add. Where all the tigers at? "May I help you?"
"The owner would like to see you.. Right now." He said, pulling me toward the back doors. Well... He tried to. I stood my ground, not budging.
"I'm not going anywhere unless you tell me why.. And I want my friends to come if they wanted." I demand, still not budging with my feet planted to the ground.. As if on que, Scarlet and Blake showed up to the party with frowns on their faces.
His eyes looked as though a sheet of glass was placed in front of them, meaning that he was mind-linking someone. His eyes turned back to normal and he nodded in a way that told me my terms would be met. We all followed after the guard, staying at each other's side. We stopped at a single door that the guard opened, I made sure to note that the door said employees only. I walked in, followed by the others, to see an older man smoking a cigar behind his desk. Wolf guardian once more. My face scrunched up in disgust at the smoke's smell.
How can he stand the smell of that smoke? I'm trying not to gag already! I silently agreed with Azaelia, controlling my emotions and putting on an emotionless mask.
He smiled, his eyes looking at only me. "Sit," he commanded and I raised an eyebrow.
"No. What do you want?" I say with no fear evident in my voice. I had no reason for it. His disgusted me more than he actually scared me, anyway.
He chuckled like I didn't disrespect him. "You're the peace keeper of the Northern Streak? You are barely skin and bones, not to mention you look weaker than my child's newborn baby." I laughed at his words, a cold and heartless tone.
"You want to see how 'weak' I am?" I growled, fighting my tiger to keep her cool. She hates being called weak apparently, no matter who says it. My eyes turn gold as Azaelea wins and takes her control forcefully. "The name's Azaelea and you pick a fight with Lily, you'll get what's coming to." She smiled wickedly, cracking her knuckles.
