"Okay.. Well, the queen and king would like you to start you on your schooling again. Today they want you to go to a tiger streak that is west. It's some type of gathering for the guardian leaders." He said when I didn't answer the first question. I groaned, not moving from my position. "But I'm going with you, so it's okay, right? Can't have my friend sit inside all day!" I chuckled lightly, then shooed him off so I could get changed.
I did my business in the bathroom, along with showering and brushing my hair and teeth. I left my hair down, not wanting to deal with it. I put on a black tee with a white rose design, adding another pair of jeans. I walked out my room, following Trevor. We met Tobias and Tris at a black truck. Tobias drove with Tris in the passenger side and we sat in the back. I couldn't help but sing to mostly all the country songs, along with Tris. They noticed, obviously, but didn't do anything. Once, Trevor even joined in on our singing. Once.
We made it after about twenty-five minutes. I was quiet again as we went into the streak house, following right behind Tobias and Tris. I shared a glance with Trevor, then looked back to the door.
Before they knocked or anything, they turned to me. "This room is filled with the true rulers of the species of guardians, along with their most trusted group leaders. Everyone had one or two plus ones, so you won't be the only teenager there. Ready? K. Let's go." Without hearing my answer, they turned back and knocked.
We made it into the dining room, where everyone was, when his scent hit me. I froze in place, watching the floor. I cannot do this. Why would he be here?? Why is my 'mate' here?? I unfroze, keeping my head down as I continued following them. We sat in a row, Dad and Trevor by my side. I looked to Trevor with pleading eyes, but he just looked at me confused. I raised my head, giving everyone a glance. From Bears to Lions. Most animal types being carnivores of course.
Across from me, I locked my eyes with him. He held regret in those eyes; but when I started to look around again, I saw a girl clinging to his arm. She was pretty. I could see what he saw in her. I looked to the ground again, biting my lip and using my brown hair to hide my face. I refuse to let him see me like this. I refuse to let him see the pain he caused.
Our means came out, but I couldn't eat anymore. Not now. Not ever. So I politly declined, trying not to affend anyone. That's when Trevor started to get concerned again. "What's wrong?" His voice was a whisper.
"He's here." I whispered back. I can't break down now. I wouldn't let that happen now. I said a little louder, to the group, "Excuse me." I left the room, going outside to take a breath. I let silent tears race down my cheeks. I was pulled into a hug by Trevor and I sobbed into his chest. I calmed down a few minutes later. "I'm sorry.."
"What are you talking about? You lost your mate and he shows up with another girl! Most are worst." He said, pulling me into another hug.
"I-.. I think I'm ready to go back in." He nodded and I wiped away my last few tears. I put on an emotionless mask. I sat again, straighter now. Prouder. I am stronger than he thinks I am. My eyes went around the table to each leader that speaks. I avoided eye contact with Axel and his lady.
We started moving outside for the bonfire. Music started coming on. Country. These people are awesome! I gave Trevor a smile, a genuine one. I started singing to it in a low voice, trying my best to not dance. Instead I swayed with it, watching the flames. Trevor had went to get drinks. I let him, even though I didn't want any.
"A-.. Are you okay?" I didn't have to look over to know that it was Axel. His scent was suffocating me, if I wasn't already dying. I scoffed at his question. "What happened to you?"
"I wonder that too sometimes." My voice was monotone. "Stopped eating, sleeping, and going outside for a week can really hurt someone." Where is Trevor?
      "Why?" He growled.
"Why? No reason at all. I guess I just felt like it." I gave him a fake smile and went to go, but he held my arm. "Don't you remember last time you did that? You have a mate here and she would not want to see you hurt." I nodded my head to the girl behind him.
"Please just hear me out, Lil-" He began, but I interrupted him.
      "Three.."
      "But-"
      "Two.."
      "Wait!"
"One." I gripped his arm, throwing him at a tree. The tree shuddered, threatening to fall. He groaned, getting up. "I warned you." I hissed.
He deserved it. What makes him think we'd talk to him with her by his side. She is what did this to us.
No. He did this to us.
Azail growled. I just stared at him quietly. He looked furious and pained. He growled, starting to stalk towards me. I just stayed there with an emotionless stare. The one I had to put on for Mother. Once he was a foot away I spoke. "I would refrain from attacking. Because if I start inflicting pain, I don't think I could stop." My voice still monotone as I paused for a second just in case he still wanted to attack. He didn't. My words went to a whisper for only him to hear, "What happened to me was you, killing my Azailia. You better treat her with respect and love her to the end. Make it worth the pain."
I turned, getting to the car we came here in. I punched it in frustration. I let the tears run again, falling to my knees and placing my forehead on the truck. Trevor placed a glass next to me. "Just kill me now."
"Not even if you wanted me to." He said with all seriousness. I sighed, turning so that I was leaning again the truck.
"I'm not thirsty." I closed eyes, looking up at the sky. "You shouldn't have to deal with me or even try to help my case."
"And, yet, I am. Because that is what friends do, Lil."
I chuckled at myself humorlessly, "You know, it gave me less pain to be with Mother." My life is a wreck. "I gotta go for a run." He nodded and we both shifted. I took off into the woods, Trevor hot on my heels.

I may change the part where he MARKED the other girl. I'll probably changed it to just being with her (his new mate) in a... Very romantic way. Yah. That's what it is.... Enjoy anyway, even if I change mah mind. I will let you guys know if I did!
