As I come back to consciousness, I can't help but revel in the glorious dream I just had. Still laying back in the hammock with my eyes closed, I remember a different scenario than the reality of today. Instead of forcing himself on me, I welcome Alexander's lips on my neck. Instead of a school bathroom, we were having a picnic in a meadow full of wildflowers. Instead of shame, I pleasured in the sparks that flew from his skin to mine. He places his large hand on my upper thigh and the tingling sensation pulses through my body. Suddenly a tiny puppy scampers over, whining. I try to comfort him but he doesn't stop whining. The tiny dog lets out a loud, sharp bark, jolting me awake again. Recognizing that I must have fallen asleep again and too terrified to move, I realized where the whining was actually coming from.

Standing before me was a giant, pure grey wolf. Seeing now that I was awake, he lifted his huge head up, off my leg, the sparks disappearing. His height was still a couple feet taller than I was laying in the hammock.

Frozen with fear, I gawk at him with wide eyes. Am I supposed to run? I quickly look around, there wasn't anything at all that I could defend myself with. I peer up at him again, he's cocked his head at me. With what looks like apprehension, he takes a slow step forward. Heart racing, I scramble back away from him. Running definitely looks like the better option right now.

The wolf takes another step forward, his strangely familiar cerulean eyes boring into mine. Leaning away from him, the hammock twists, swiftly dumping me onto the earth below. I whip my head towards him as he lets out some kind of deep wolfy chuckle. Is he laughing at me?! Can they do that? I begin cautiously edging towards my backpack, still on my hands and knees . Maybe if I hit him with my book hard enough, I can make it home.

Stopping me in my tracks he lays down between me and my backpack. Still looking at me through his thick lashes, he bows his head and scoots towards me a little, now eye level with me. My eyes prick with tears and I squeeze them shut. My parents probably won't find my body, that's if there is even anything left of me after he's finished. Tears now rolling down my skin, my thought's halt as his warm breath hits my face. This is it, this is the end. To my surprise and revulsion, his sticky, wet tongue hits my chin and he drags it all the way up to my forehead in one quick, slurping lick.

My face contorts in disgust, "Ewwwww!" I wipe at my cheek with the sleeve of my shirt as he again lets out a throaty chuckle at my reaction. This is a weird ass wolf. Daringly, I slowly lift my hand out in front of me. This is the ultimate test to see if he licked me to have a taste of his next meal, or to maybe befriend me?

With shaking hands, I take a deep breath and reach out, his large, intelligent eyes follow my every move. When my palm gets a couple inches from the side of his face, he dips his head to the side and pushes his soft fur into my open hand. I freeze as sparks dance up my arm and travel the length of my body, his eyes close as he nuzzles my hand, purring gently. This was quite the turn of events, what a day.

Becoming slightly more comfortable with the enormous beast of a wolf, I place my other hand on the top of his head, between his stark white ears, sparks still flying up and down my arms. I must admit, this animal is beautiful, even with his mismatched ears.

In horror, I look at the sky. The sun is setting already, I must have been asleep a hell of a lot longer than I thought. My parents must be so worried, I wrote on the note that I would be home hours ago.

"Okay so I don't think you're going to kill me..." I say carefully, drawing my hands back. He turns his head to the side, almost in confusion, "I really need to go home, though. My parents have to be freaking out." To my surprise he backs up a few feet to let me get up. I stand quickly, untying the hammock from the trees, and stuffing everything into my backpack.

Eyeing him, I take a few steps in the direction of my house, "Okay, so..." I start, who knew things could get awkward hanging out with a wolf? "...I'm going to go now." Turning away, I start walking to my house. Because it's getting dark outside, I decide not to run back, not trusting my footing with the lumpy earth.

As I walk away, the wolf immediately begins trotting along after me. I run my hand down my face and sigh, "You're one tame wolf, are you sure you're not a dog?" He growls playfully in response, brushing his side on mine. There's no way he understood that! This is so strange. I throw up my hands in surrender, "Okay, okay. I get it you're touchy." He glares at me quickly, then turns back to the trail. This is like having an actual conversation with someone.

As we get the the edge of the trees by my house, I stop and kneel next to him, decidedly coming to the conclusion that he just wanted some company. He brings his head closer to mine, and I quickly hold up a finger in front of his face, making him stop. "I swear if you lick me again I'm going to be really ma-" He cuts me off by taking a step forward and leaning his heavy head on my shoulder. Is he trying to hug me? I wrap my arms around his thick neck and he nuzzles his nose into my neck. Pulling back, he takes one last long look at me and disappears into trees.

As I walk into my house, I realize just how much trouble I'm in. Suddenly remembering the purple splotches on my neck, I slap my hand on it to cover them. I'd be in a hell of a lot more trouble if my parents saw those. Five pairs of angry eyes glare at me as I step into the living room that was just filled with worry. I run my fingers through my hair, "Okay, I get that you're mad-" I laugh nervously, cautiously coming closer, "-but you will never believe the day I had".
