A doctor came out and told Brendon he could see Ryan. Brendon hopped up like a kid on Christmas, excited to open presents.
Brendon impatiently followed the doctor inside the hospital room.
He almost let out a yelp looking at Ryan hooked up to all the machines.
The doctor came in and sat Brendon down.
"The bullet hit a vital organ," they frowned.
"Oh..."
I put a hand on Brendon's shoulder. He flinched.
"Sorry!" I whispered loudly.
"It's... okay," Brendon said.
It's like he wasn't here.
It's like there was another part of him wandering out somewhere.
