"Um, then how did it come to this?" Daniel asks, after listening to the president's story. President Grey looks at him as if he was just in a trance. Grey begins to think. "I can't remember, it's all kind of a blur." He replies. Daniel tries to leave, but the guards make him sit down in a chair near Grey's desk.
"What do you want from me?"
"For you to know the truth."
"What are you talking about?"
"Your entire mission is a lie."
"My mission is to keep you from destroying the things people have created!"
"You really think that?"
"Yes."
"What I'm trying to do is control it," President Grey replies, "because if people take their minds off things, they can think clearer." Daniel thought about this for a second. Grey was right. "Why like this though?" Daniel thought to himself. Then, as if he was reading his mind, Grey answered him. "Because, if people don't do dumb things, then no one will die from someone's dumb mistakes." He exclaimed, "Plus doctors could focus on curing diseases, so no one dies like that either." Daniel sighed. That was exactly what had happened to Grey twice. It was a good cause, but Grey was going about it all wrong. Daniel felt sorry for him, but he had to stop him. He had to stop his father.
Ender woke up suddenly. He looked around. "Where am I?" He thought. All he could see was the cream-colored walls, and a bed nearby. He turned around and saw a hallway. He got up and started to run to it before he ran into some glass. He fell back. "You've been locked up." A familiar voice said. Ender looked around, there wasn't anyone nearby. He started thinking. Why was he here? Where is he? Ender leaned back against the wall. "You're probably not going to get out Ender." said the familiar voice. Ender processed who was talking to him. After a while, Ender figured it out. It was Rose!
"Rose! Do you know where Mink is?"
"No."
"Do you know where we are?"
"Yeah, the White House."
"Why are we here of all places?"
"Long story."
"We've got time."
Daniel sat in the chair. Trying to comprehend everything, just one more time. Wasn't his dad trying to destroy the world's imagination? It didn't make any sense. Grey noticed this. "You still want to stop me, don't you." He said. Daniel nodded. Grey got up from his desk. He snapped his fingers. His men went left the room. Grey grabbed a remote off of his desk.
"You remember my safe zones don't you?"
"Yeah, what's your point?"
"There's someone I want you to meet." Grey replied as he pressed a dark blue button on the remote. A T.V. screen appeared. Grey pressed a red button, and the T.V. turned on. The screen was static a first, but then it changed. It showed a boy sitting in a completely white area. The boy wore all blue. A sword was on his back, and what looked like a lightsaber was sitting next to him. The boy was watching something spin. Daniel looked at the boy more. The boy's hair was brown and messy, sticking out everywhere. The boy looked familiar. For some reason, Daniel recognized him, but he couldn't put together all the pieces of the puzzle, even though puzzles were what he was best at. In fact games like puzzles in general were basically what he lived for. "This seems like a great mystery to you," Grey announced, "even though you've met a different him." When Grey said that, Daniel realized who he was looking at. He was watching, N.
