GRAYSON'S P.O.V

Here I am sitting on the couch that has become my bed for the last 2 months in my best friends apartment. Liam and I has been friends since second grade. I spent more nights growing up at his house then I did my own.

When I decided that I was going to enlist into the Army, he was right along side me signing up. Now here we are, six years later, fresh out of the military. We came back to the place we grew up, the place that holds the worst and also the best memories of my life.

My mother died when I was eight in a car crash and my father blamed me for it, because she went to the store to get me medicine because I had the flu. How was I suppose to know that a car would run a red light.

My father started drinking and taking his frustration out on me.  I heard he died a few years back. I didn't even shed a tear. Anyways, he was the reason I was never home growing up and always at Liam's or Savi's..... Savi, that girl could make the darkness in me go away with just one look. Hell, I missed her like crazy these last six years. Her face and the memories of her got me through the shit that I've seen these past years.

I often wonder what she has been up too. Did she get her degree? Is she dating someone, is she married, has kids? I could look her up and see for myself, but would that be fair to her after six years to show up in her life after I told her to forget me. Can I even handle the thought she may belong to another or has a family now.

In my mind, she will always be mine. My Savi, my salvation

"Did you find anything you like yet?" Liam asked me when he sat beside me at the table

I've been looking at houses since I've came back two months ago

"Yeah, I found one on the beach five bedrooms and three in a half baths. I set up to look at it this afternoon" I turned my laptop towards him to show him the listing

He whistles "Thats nice, man, but ain't that alittle to big, just for you?"

"Yeah, but I like the space after being in the living conditions we have been in. It will be a nice change and it right on the beach and secluded"

While in the Army they paid for my education, so I majored in Business Management. I had a job lined up as soon as I got out of the military. I'm a operational researcher at a senior level, thanks to my military experience, my salary is seventy thousand a year

"Besides its only twenty minutes away from my job"

"Yeah, I'm sure thats the reason and it has nothing to do with a certain girl who always wanted a beach house" He said with raised eyebrows

"Don't"

"I'm just saying man. You're back for good. Why don't you just go look her up"

"Just drop it"

"Your stupid man, She was perfect for you and I never understood why you put yourself through all of this torture these past years"

"She's too good for me, Liam, always has been"

"Yeah, your right, but she was always good for you too"

And with that he walked away

As I pulled up to the house I noticed its a lot bigger then I originally thought. I parked my Acura next to a older silver Nissan Altima, that I assume belongs to the realtor.

As I made my way to door I took in my surrounding's. It was a three story grayish color brick house with a flower bed wrapped around the front of the house with some kind of pink flowers.

When I made it to the double front door I notice it was opened. I stepped into the house a little and knocked on one of the front doors

"Hello" I yelled hoping they heard me

"Coming" A voiced called from the back of the house

I stepped into the house further and notice some painting that was hanging in the foyer when I heard a voice behind me that I only dream about anymore

"Hi Mr...." She trails off waiting for me to introduce myself

Taking a deep breath, I turn around and stare at the girl who I have loved since I was 13. She no longer looks like the 18 year old girl I left. Her hair is way past her shoulders, Her glasses are gone, and her body... Just staring at her is making me hard. She was breathtaking

Don't get me wrong she was always gorgeous, but looking at her now, She is all women

"Savi...." I whispered surprised to see her after all these years

I wonder if this is fate way of telling me I get another change to fix things as I see no ring on her finger

"Grayson, Your back?" She said kinda breathless, but at the same time stern

I shouldn't be surprise she didn't call me by her nickname for me after the way we left things. I know I broke her heart that day, but at the same time I thought it was best. Apart of me still does

What I don't understand is why she is here. I know she is the real estate agent, but she was going to go to school to become a vet. What happened to make her change her career choice? Is it because of me leaving? Did she even go to UCLA? or did she stay here in Mississippi for school"
