Chapter 20 - Being Followed

??? P.O.V

I was in the car, driving through the small city. I looked around and saw multiple people surrounding the news station. We pulled over in an ally to hide from the press. I slightly rolled down the window, enough to get a clean view of the TV. I saw Heartfilia daughter finally found?! on the headline. We quickly sped off from the ally towards the border of town. When we reached the Town's farewell sign, I saw a single car parked by it. There was someone I recognized standing outside, as if guarding it, but that didn't stop me.

Lucy's P.O.V

We were pulled over by the Town's farewell sign. Natsu was standing outside to watch who drives by, while Zeref and Mavis were busy discussing where a good place for me to hide was.

"She can stay with us. There's no problem with that." Zeref said.

"But everyone know that she's friends with the Dragneel's. Once they track us down, she'll be found. We need to hide her somewhere where he Dragneel family is not connected." Mavis argued back.

"But where is there to hide her?! We can't just out her in the middle of now where! And you know that Natsu's gonna want to stay with her. Them two are inseparable!" 

"I know! How about they hide for us for a time, but hen people get too suspicious, we leave. No questions asked."

"But that won't be long. By the time we get settled in, they might come banging on our door."

"You just said that they wanted her to stay with us!"

"That's before you put in in perspective!"

"Where else-"

Natsu then jumped into the car and slammed the door shut.

"Zeref! Drive! He found us!" He shouted, looking back at a black car that was behind us. Zeref turned the car on and sped off out of town. We were so past the speed limit, but that didn't stop the car from following us. I tried to see who it was behind us, but I regretted looking.

I saw the face of the man I swore never to see again.
