Chapter 3: Haunted Children

"20 coins on Jax." I said to a brown hair student next to me who already had his coins in his hands.

Everyone was screaming at them, wanting more blood, more bone breaking, more money. Jax leaped at Hugh, grabbing his shoulders and shoving his entire body into the ground. He set his leg on top of Hugh like he had just slain a dragon.

"Keep your filthy hands off my rations!" Jax said to him clinging his bread ration and Hugh's bread ration

"I didn't tough it!" Hugh said pushing Jax off and hook punched him in the gut. Jax didn't move much, a kid as big as him wouldn't get fazed by just that. Jax was completely done with Hugh. He spun around and hook kicked Hugh, knocking him cold.

The crowd around them screamed and people started passing money around, I got my 20 coins so I was happy. The crowd eventually dispersed and Jax greeted us.

"You look rather pale Axil" Jax said laughing "Cant take a little blood?" He teased. Jax was the kind of kid that you'd see playing sports all the time, the kind of kid who thinks he's bigger then everyone else.

Axil shook his head "Don't mind me, Where's Dot and Cam?" He asked looking around.

Dot was a average Hispanic boy who loved betting on things, he's quick and light on his feet and is always ready to run across town to see a good fight go down. Cam like I mentioned earlier is a shortish blonde hair, blue eyed little brat. I don't like her personally but she has the coins, Being near her with a fight is a gold mine. Wouldn't want to miss out on that right?

"Don't know, Don't care!" He said pushing his hair back  "Dot is probably betting on a fight like usual and Cam is off looking in a mirror somewhere." He looked around and saw a group of tattooed people walk into the front gate of the school "Hey, Look. Its the Blood Laws."

Blood Laws. A group of 'rebel' people living with black and red hair, tattoos that they make extra effort for you to see, and of course a huge leader that knows everyone and everything around him. They wear tall boots with holes in them, fishnet shirts and maybe have a knife or two. Their leader: Blair Wright. You heard me. My sworn enemy. He's pretty easy to spot from his crowd, his hair is black and blue unlike his dogs.

I made a pretty rash and disgusting sound at the sight of them "Their mediocre asses think their better then everyone else don't they." I said not looking for an answer. They walked past us, spitting at our shoes and into the building. "One of these days the Blue Shirts are gonna get them."

Dot waltzed through the front door "Sorry I'm late" He said holdings his hands above his head "A cool fight just happened between and senior and a junior. I won 90 coins!" he said dropping all his coins on purpose in front of us "What'd you think of that?"

"You missed a fight against Hugh and Jax." Axil said, puffing his chest out to try and look cool.

"Doesn't matter. Have you guys heard of the shipment of new children coming in today?" I asked, It was indeed the end of march meaning all children born within the last week or so get sent here. "I heard at least 200 new kids will be joining this shithole island." I said "Its been a while since we've watched the hordes of Leo's carry the babies to the nuns on West Street."

West Street is where all the Aries babies are raised until age 8 when they are sent off to the streets to fend for their own, unless your parents were born here too. The street goes for about 5 miles in one direction, a lot of kids roam that street, learning how to fight and gamble. A shame really but it not like I haven't been there before, my parents were born on Sagittarius island. 

"Any baby sent here is like a punishment for being born." Jax said "We don't make the rules though don't we?" He sat down on the concrete ground and the rest of us followed, It was tiring dealing with the pressure of fighting everyone.

"Maybe we can go and see the new babies, Its kinda like butterflies ya know? They're there for a little while then they disappear for a whole year." Axil said "If only we had butterflies here..."

"Blah Blah Blah no one cares about some little bug." Jax said waving his hand "I'm down to go see the fresh meat being shipped in."

"Its a deal then. We're all going to go see the new recruits on tomorrow's shipment." I exclaimed "Maybe Cam will show up, Haven't heard from her in a few days."

"Good riddance, If she wants to show up she can but don't let her slow us down" Dot said picking up the last of his coins
