"How'd ya meet him?!" Jordan lay on my bed on her stomach, feet in the air, and eyes fixed on me. She could be such a gossip girl sometimes."On the beach, at a farmers market."
"A farmers market?! Who even goes to those anymore?! It's not 1960!" She exaggerated.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. I stood up. "Want some more punch?" I asked, taking her glass.
"I think you two would be the cutest couple!" She said, not answering my question, as she followed me into the kitchen.
"Would you knock it off? Jared and I have only gone out once." I said this modestly but inside as I considered it and I agreed with her.
"Boy or girl?"
"What?"
"Do you want your first kid to be a boy or a girl?!" She said this using a lot of her hands, and said it in a way as though the question was obvious."Kids?! What kids? Why are you even thinking about that? Geez. Yes I like him, ok? But I don't know what I want. I don't know what he wants." I said frantically.
"Aww, that's so sweet. You're nervous! That's a sign of a good future." She said, pouring out herself more punch.
"Can we get off the topic of Jared, please?" I said, feeling overwhelmed.
*sigh* "Fine. But I don't forget!" She lifted up her pinkie finger as she drank her punch, like she was royalty or something.
"So who's the lucky guy for you?" I teased, glad to be off the subject of me.
"Oh, no one in particular. Just a couple one-night stands here and there." I almost choked on my punch when she said this.
My eyes got wide. "One night stands as in..." I gave her the gesturing eye look.
"Well ya, of course, what else would that mean? And what do you expect, we're 24." I nodded slowly when she said this, staring at my feet.
"Mm hmm..." I muttered.
She gasped. "Have you not... you haven't?! Really?! You... haven't yet?!"
"No, okay, I haven't! I'm just... waiting for the right guy."
"Do you think Jared will be that guy??" she crept closer to me, running her nails along my wrist.
I pulled away. " I don't know. It's too early to tell. I don't want to talk about this anymore. Can we just go to bed and watch Netflix, please?"
she lingered for a second, looking at me, then nodded. "Yes, of course. What do you want to watch?"
I looked over my shoulder at her with a look like *really, you don't know?*
"Friends?"
"Of course."
"Then let's go!"
