"Ummmmmm...no?" he replied sneakily, hoping to try really hard to not get the young girl all panicky.
"Oh my god! Those were assassins! We just got chased down by people who wanted to and probably could kill us! And...and we are just standing around like sitting ducks what is wrong with you?! How are you so calm? We're gonna die, they're gonna kill us...!" She continued on and on while pacing back and forth flailing her arms around like a crazy person. He looked at her with his arms crossed and his face looked like he expected this.
"This is why I didn't tell you," Damien calmly replied. She stormed up to him.
"Really were gonna get killed by literal assassins and you somehow are calm enough to come up with stupid and snide remarks! Do you not even care if we die? Because, I sure as hell do, and I'm not going to get killed by some stupid assassins because of you!" She shouted angrily in his face. He held his arms up in a sign of defeat and slowly backed away from her.
"Why the hell are you backing away from me, and I swear to god if you tell me there's something behind me, I am going to punch them in the face!"
"Well, here's the thing, do you want me to be truthful or not?"
"JUST TELL ME!"
"Fine, Ms.Angry Pants... there may or may not be two giant ass bears behind you"
"Wow, really? You're getting worked up over two measly little bea-Wait BEARS!" She turned around and sure enough, there were two bears big bears that were about twice her size just a couple of yards away.
"Quik play dead!" Damien whisper shouted at her.
"Why didn't you say that sooner, also why should I listen to you?"
"Well unless you want to get mauled by a bear than fine don't listen to my expert advice!"
"Ughh, fine whatever." She replied as she hurriedly dropped to the soft and slightly wet earth. She lifted her head and watched as the two bears moved closer. Then all of a sudden the realization hit her, they might die...again. Fear coursed through her veins as her brain thought of all the worst possible things that could happen. She felt herself start to shake from all the adrenaline pumping through her body. Damien softly took her hand in his and tightly gripped it trying to get her to calm down. Unfortunately, that didn't help at all and the nerves only seemed to be getting worse as the bears got closer and closer.
"You know they can probably smell fear." He whispered to her while slightly smirking hopping a small joke might help.
"Be quiet now really isn't the time to be joking around, plus I don't want to die!" She scolded him.
"You're right, I kinda don't want to die either," The bears got closer and closer till they were right in front of the two. They both looked at Damien and lightly sniffed him. As soon as they started sniffing him a low growl emitted from their throats, the bears looked at each other then shook their heads. Then they went over to the quaking young girl. She quickly put her head down as her free hand dug into the soft earth. They both were fearing what might come in the future.
