The Girl in the Woods

Chapter 14

 She was sweating and breathing hard. As much as she tried she couldn't control her fear and started to wonder if bears really could smell fear as Damien had joked about earlier.While she was worried about the thoughts that were in her brain she hadn't realized the bears had gotten even closer. The girl hadn't realized the bears were close until she felt something what on her face. She let out a small squeak and raised her hand to her face to get off the wet substance, but when she looked up she saw both of the bears in front of her and one of them had their tongue out. Pure Terror was written on her face as she started to get up. Which ended up failing because she felt something soft and fuzzy rammed into her face she tried to see the bears again, but couldn't for a brown fuzzy thing invaded her vision she raised her hands to her face to try to get it away but was unsuccessful.

  She realized then that the bears weren't going to harm her, which luckily caused her to calm down and embrace the brown mass of fur in front of her. Since she wasn't panicked she let out a small laugh at the reaction the bear gave when she embraced him.  It seems like he enjoyed it and it definitely sounded like he was purring in agreement. She was very confused as to why they seemed to be acting like this, what she was taught was that bears were very hostile creatures, but I guess not. Damien looked at her in bewilderment, never had a bear this been this kind to anyone ever. He gently stood up and walked over to her then looks at her and asked

"Are you a wizard?"

"Did you just ask me if I was a wizard you were the one who knew about the whole special power thingy right?"

" not that I know of. I guess I don't really have much to say for that considering I don't really know what the skill set of the light is."

"So you're telling me you want to train me without knowing my skill-set is! Wow, what a genius idea! You're so smart!"

"Don't get sarcastic with me! Sorry if I'm trying to help you out here."

 "Okay, whatever we'll just-I don't know I hope this works out for the best."

"Yeah, I guess we will." Then Damien wondered if he could pet the bears, so he went up to the one that wasn't currently getting pet and reached his hand out but was discouraged and a bit frightened when the bear started growling, so Damien went back to the girl.

"I don't think these bears like me very much."

"Well, I can see why I mean I don't like you very much."

"Well, that was just mean."

"Yeah, whatever you can suck it up can't you."

"Fine fine fine I guess I will."

Damien then decided to take her hand and stop her.

"Wait are you going to pass off the fact that there are bears in front of us?"

"Well, I don't really care they are just giant sweethearts." The girl proclaimed as the bear let out a happy sounding noise to show that he was agreeing.

"Whatever Snow White"

"Who's Snow White?"

"Whatever, that's not important maybe try to talk to them or something." The girl stood up and went to the bears and quietly asked

"Excuse me was there a reason that you came here today?" It was a silence and then suddenly the thought appeared in her mind she couldn't expect these bears to talk back to her they were animals after all who would want animals to talk back to them that would be quite weird. Then after a long silence, it was broken by a dark and booming voice.

"We are here to train you, for you are the light." Then a kind and motherly voice was heard.

"Oh, Todd honey don't be so mean sounding."

"Wait so you guys can actually talk that's so cool!" The girl said with enjoyment in her voice.

"Why of course we can dear although only you can understand us that poor boy behind you looks quite confused.", and sure enough, as soon as the girl turned around he was met with the face of a gaping mouth Damien. He suddenly snapped out of it and shook his head back and forth.

"What are they saying?"

"Nothing that you need to know of. Also, they are teaching me from now on."

"I will still be accompanying you"

"Fine, whatever." The girl looked back at the bears and asked

"What are your names I feel like I should know them if you are going to be training me?"

"Well, my name is Alex and that is my husband Todd. What is your name sweetheart?"

"You mean to tell me you want to train me yet you never knew my name?'

"Precisely" Alex replied with a happy-go-lucky attitude.

"Well, now that you mention it I don't know your name either." Damien cut into the conversation.

"Fine, Since none of you know my name I'll tell you my name is.."
