What the hell?It was hidden in the shadows, the only that you could see was the glowing red eyes.
I tried to have a closer look but suddenly, I felt a strangely familiar feeling that I have when I wake up in the morning.
The eyes did not blink. They stared at me, taking all in.
I was still frozen.
I tried opening my mouth to call Elli, but it was stuck together.
I felt like someone was gripping my heart, literally. If I could have moved, am sure that my body would have shocked in pain.
Why is it so painful?
The eyes slowly retreated thinking that they have had enough and the pain slowly recoiled. It almost as if they wanted me to know the where watching.
"Kate!" Elli's voice forced me out of my trance.
"Yes?" I responded trying to even my breath.
"Are you listening?"
"Um...yeah?" that sounded more like a question.
She gave me a challenging and said, "Then what did I say?"
How should I know?
"New shoes?"
She sighed and said, "No, but you are close."
"Now that we are talking about clothes..." she continued "Yesterday, I bought new red 6 inches' shoes and..."
We talked as we made our way to class, but my mind was not there, I could not stop thinking about the red eyes.
There were so familiar. I had a feeling that I have seen those eyes before.
And then I remembered, there were the same eyes from my dreams. It was the only thing I could remember. A faceless figure with red hungry eyes.
Not paying attention where I was walking I bumped into a girl.
"Hey!!" The high pitched voice said "Watch where you are going, freak"
It was Ember. The most popular girl at our school. She always wore the more expensive clothes and her glossy brown hair always seemed to be in perfect diva curls. Not to mention her makeup.
Now what?
I did not know why, but she did not like me. Every time she placed her eyes on me there was always a snarky comment coming out of her mouth.
"Whatever" I muttered. Not feeling a little bit in the mood to worry about her nonsense.
"Are you not going to apologize you piece of $#it!" She said, grabbing all the attention one could possibly have in a school hallway. Including her minions, who were then, copping every expression that Ember had in her face.
I looked at them and decided I would not waste my breath in talking to idiots.
However, Elli had other plans.
"Why don't YOU watch where you are going, Bitc#?" Elli could be nice when she wanted, but when you get on her bad side, she could be the daughter of the devil. "OR are you so full of yourself that you can see where you are going?"
"What did you say?" Ember said her face going red.
"Didn't you hear me?" She said in a sugar sweet voice mixed with venom.
Not wanting to hear anymore I entered my classroom and seated down in my usual seat at the back thinking about all the things that have happened since our 16th birthday.
As the class slowly started filling in the teacher came, he took a textbook and started to teach. "Well class now we are going to..."
Mr and Mrs Callaway seated in grey and white office chairs. they were troubled, knowing that the day to reveal the secrets has finally come. They have tried to keep it a secret but the changes have already started to show like it said it would in the letter.
Mrs Callaway looked at his husband and said "It is time"
"Yes," He looked at the locked cupboard they have hidden that letter and trough about the last time he has had the temptation to throw it.
