~*Anna's Point of View*~
I rode all day along a dark, black, solid, trail with two curious yellow stripes running down the middle, until I reached a small town by the name of Puente Antiguo in the state of New Mexico. As I rode into into town I got some strange looks, but let me tell you, I gave them looks rights back because they were just wearing the darnedest things, and there were poles sticking up out of the ground on the side of the roads that were glowing like there was an oil lamp inside, and these rolling metal contraptions that looked like sophisticated, covered mine cars or a horseless wagon. Could this be the...future? No. That's rediculous. But how long was I out?
I stopped a girl with long, curly, dark brown hair that was dressed like I was, wearing a familiar flannel shirt and denim pants that were very tight. "Lil Missy, what is the date of today?" I said in my thick southern draw.
She looked up at me confused, "Uh, Sunday the 25th."
"Yes thank you, and the month?" I asked wanting more of an answer.
"March," She looked at me like I was crazy.
I nodded, "And the year?"
"2012...." She trailed off.
I was stunned to say in the least. I was asleep, out of it, in a coma, whatever you want to call it for 144 years?! I saw my reflection in the glass window across the street in a store window, I still looked like myself, long light brown curled hair, bright red lipstick, green eyes, dressed the same, talked the same, everything was normal...but it wasn't, I felt a little off...
"Hey, uh, dude, are you okay? You don't look too good, I mean you're really pale, and you're riding a horse, and dressed like," she gestured to me, "that."
All I could was nod as a response.
"Are you sure? My friend Jane is a doctor and I could take you to her if you want..."
I snapped out of my daze, and cleared my throat, "Yes, why thank you kindly, Lil Missy."
"Great. C'mon." She began walking down the street. I nudged Gunsmoke forward, walking after her. She pulled a small box-like device out of her pocket. As she touched it began making strange noises... She started to speak into the box, telling it that she found someone and was bringing me back to see it. I did not understand as the box was right there and could see it perfectly fine...
She quit talking to her box and put it back in her pocket and spoke to me again, "Ya know, you talk funny. Kinda old-fashioned like."
"Yes, old-fashioned..." I pondered, the words tasted funny on my tongue. "Say, Lil Missy, you got yourself a name?" I asked.
"Ya, it's uh Darcy, Darcy Lewis. And you?"
"A very nice name for a nice young lady." She nodded, "My name is Anna Moore. Thank you, for your kindness towards me, Darcy."
"Ya sure thing." She responded, and under her breath whispered, "you just seemed a little wacky," thinking I could not hear her.
"Did you say something?" I asked, curious to see what she would say.
"Huh? Oh, nothing." She looked at building and announced "Hey look! There it is!" She burst through the door and called out "JANE, I'M BACK AND I GOT COMPANY!"
I dismounted Gunsmoke, and called out to Darcy, "Hey, y'all got a hitching post where I can tie up Gunsmoke?"
"Uhhhhh," she thought for a second, "just tie her to the fence, I guess. Now c'mon!"
