~David~

Everything was black. I couldn't see anything. Were my eyes open? I'm blinking, they must be. I held out my arms in hope of something to grab ahold of. I don't know what happened.

I was told that when I die that my memory resets, but I remember everything from my previous life. My insane low rank, my lack of happiness, my loss of direction. And Daniel. The Legendary. The one who gave me a roof over my head temporally. But I threw that away. Is that myth true? Suicide makes you remember. My throat clogged up as tears stung in the ducts of my eyes. All I wanted was to forget.

Then a light shone into my eyes. I shielded them with my arm to let my eyes adjust to the sudden brightness. I finally rest my arm next to myself as I figured out what was in front of me. A screen. One I recognised. It was my vision after I hung myself. I was lost for words. Then audio piped up. I heard Daniel call from the opposite side of the door, implying he was coming in.

I saw him step in as the door creaked open. Daniel then stood there, shock painted over his face. I don't know what he was feeling. Probably betrayal as guilt filled me up. Guilt that I hung myself, after him doing everything for me. Giving me a house, giving me food, giving me something to look forward to. All I looked forward to was death.

My thoughts were interrupted by the vision fading to black as I saw pixels float upwards. Soon the screen camouflaged in with the background, I thought that was it, then text faded into view. It read: 'Respawn?' with two options, 'Retry' and 'Quit'.

I held out my hand, hovering over the quit text. It shimmered as I lingered my hand, then pictures of Daniel crept into my thoughts. I heard his voice, the deep reassuring voice that he had.

My hand travelled its way up to retry, the stars exchanging from one text to another. I gulped as I closed my hand, confirmed to retry my life.

The screen blacked out as I was placed into the same town I was in previously. The same 'Welcome' text as when I first started this game. But yet, I still had nowhere to go. Then I was only given one option.

My legs started to work before my brain knew. I walked in a familiar direction, walking threw a big open iron gate that led me to an expensive residential area, for LVL 5 and up.

People gave me odd stares as I walked past. Judgemental stares. I felt uneasy. I shoved my hands into my jeans' pockets and stepped faster. As I neared the door, I took a deep breath. I stopped dead in my tracks, as I faced the familiar door.

I pulled my hand up reluctantly in a fist and knocked my knuckles gently on the door. I fiddled with my hands as the sensation tensed up and fear began to crawl up my spine. A few seconds later, the door opened, showing Daniel with a rough looking face. When he realised it was me, he smothered me in hugs. He stepped back, but still clutching onto my shoulders, digging his fingers into my clothing and my skin. His eyes were a pool of disbelief. He opened his mouth but only silence came out. He was stuck for words.

His eyes managed to produce tears, as if he hasn't been crying enough already. Daniel yelled out his cries and embraced me tight. He sniffled into my ear as he pulled out of the hug.

"Why?" He finally choked out. He sounded rough around the edges, it hurt.

"I don't wanna be here but I only came back because I didn't want to leave you with the trauma," I replied with then realised everyone in the street was looking at us.

"Daniel... People are looking at us." I whispered into his ear. That's when it snapped that we were outside. He pulled me inside of his house and I realised food was on the table.

"It might be cold but I made it for you." He mumbled but loud enough for me to hear.

"Thanks."

As Daniel travelled upstairs, I sat in the wooden seat and picked up the fork, beginning to eat the food. It was lukewarm but otherwise, it was good. Then a feeling crawled down my back, a feeling that someone was watching me. But Daniel went upstairs? I can hear his footsteps above me.

I turned my body and looked at the window straight behind me but no one was there. Then my eyes glided to the stairs to see a woman there. She had short blonde hair, her eyes were a light blue. She looked like an old co-worker of mine. She wore a light pink blouse with a white belt wrapped around her waist. She has white shorts on and white trainers.

"Who are you?" She questioned. Her voice was high and she sounded like a nice girl.

"I'm David. You?"

"Jen. You're the one who commit suicide but came back, aren't you? Why did you come back if you commit suicide to get out?" She bombarded me with questions. I got overwhelmed and only 'umm's and 'emm's came out.

"Jen! Leave David alone." I heard Daniel chuckle as he came back downstairs. The tension that I was given from Jen suddenly dissolved into calmness.

"Shut up Daniel! Let him answer my questions!" She grumbled.

"Jen, he's having trouble currently. Please don't make hi-."

"Shut the hell up!" She interrupted. I felt awkward so I went back to eating my food. "David! Answer me!"

I jumped in surprise, with a muffled yell from the food I stuffed into my mouth.

"He's busy, ask him later, Jen." Daniel commanded. Jen mumbled a few words under her breath and stomped upstairs.

"Don't mind her, David. That's Jen, my sister."
(As far as I know, it isn't canon that Daniel and Jen are siblings or dating or anything.)

"Oh okay. I thought she was your girlfriend." I chuckled silently.

"No," he smiled with a giggle, "I guess I didn't tell you. I'm gay."
