~Daniel~
"But I know there's something more than friendship between us, and I want to give it a try." I glared down at my hands, fiddling with the pen intertwined within my fingers. I was worried about what he was going to say. I was pretty sure he was going to reject me. After all, I've only known him for a few days. Nonetheless, I still have feelings for him, I have ever since I saw him in that window. So, love at first sight I guess. Looking up at David, I notice him in thought. Probably thinking of some sort of excuse.
"I..." He paused. This is it. This is when I get denied. "Look... I feel the same, but I'm that awkward and boring that you'd get tired of me after a while."
"W-what? Of course I wouldn't get tired of you!" I hugged him, not as tightly as I wanted, but tight enough to show affection.
I pulled away, David's gamers tag forming up above his head. His health bar was slowly regenerating. I smiled to myself.
"So... What do you say?" I piped up. After a few seconds, David replied, "I'll think about it."
My heart sunk, but it's not a complete 'no', right? He won't run away or do anything to harm himself, I hope.

It was the next day, David was released from hospital. We walked together back to our house. I glanced to check on David, he was walking shyly, hands in pockets, looking down like he does. I sighed, slightly patting his shoulder. I felt him jump somewhat, concerning me marginally. We walked silently until we arrived back.
I let David in first, but as he entered, he ran straight to his room. I followed quietly, coming to a close at his slammed door. I pressed my ear against the wood, hearing quiet sobs emit from him. I opened the door and pushed it slowly.
"Go away." He breathed through sobs. I stayed put, "Go away!" He repeated. Small sniffles came from his direction. I sighed softly.
"David-"
"Fucking leave!" He yelled, startling me. I darted my eyes across David's structure, not sure whether to obey, or comfort him. David coughed quietly, then muttered out, "Please, just go."
I sighed defeatedly and I left the room, slowly travelling downstairs, regretting my movements. I sat on the sofa, adjusting myself to sit cross-legged. I rested my head on my hands, which were set on my knees. I hunched myself over and thought about David. What's wrong? And why isn't he telling me?
Before realising, David had come down and waved his hand in my face, clearly noticing that I was lost in thought. I shook my head lightly, and stared at him briefly before asking, "are you okay now?"
He replied with a simple nod, along with a smile, then devoured me in a hug. It startled me slightly, but hugged back after a second. A small sigh emitted from the boy, the warm breath grazing past my neck, sending a shiver down my spine.
We parted our hug, a small disappointed emotion painted on David's face. I smiled softly and stood up, dragging David towards the kitchen, picking food for lunch. We decided on a meal, and we slowly began to make it. It didn't take long but that included joking around, and not focusing on anything. We sat and ate, still spitting out stupid jokes to each other. We giggled like idiots, surprised that we both didn't choke on our food.
It started to get late, and since I wanted to cheer David up, I told him to get into warm clothing suitable for the cold weather outside. I did the same and waited. Soon enough, David came bouncing downstairs; his red, spiked hair falling in front of his face as he moved. I chuckled softly at him, and motioned him to walk out the door as I held it open.
We walked slowly, David unsure of where we were going. When we came to the destination, David's face lit up.
"I always wanted to come here! But I was always too broke to rent skates." He sighed as he looked towards the ice rink in front of us.
"Well, now's your lucky day." I smiled at him as we walked towards a small wooden stall, selling ice skates in a range of sizes. I bought two pairs and we sat down on a close by wooden bench. I slipped on the skates and tied them, I attempted to stand properly, but wobbled. David did the same, but stumbled towards me, falling on me. I grabbed him and chuckled softly, as David's cheeks flushed a pastel pink.
I let him go, but held his hand as I helped him to the rink. He held onto the banister as we shuffled onto the ice. I glided in front of David as I told him to hold onto my arm. He clutched tightly as I began to skate forward slowly. I grabbed his left hand with mine as I wrapped my other around his shoulders.
Soon, I was skating a normal speed, despite David stumbling here and there. He was getting the hang of it. He let go of the banister and left only me for support him. I smiled as I skated a little faster. I could tell he was having fun. I took back my arm from around his shoulders and grabbed his hand. He was a bit shaky but was happy that he was managing.
Slowly, I dragged David into the centre of the rink, spinning softly. I wrapped my arms around his waist as he wrapped his around my neck. As we stopped spinning, I stared into his green eyes, our foreheads softly touched as I sighed with a smile.
David then leant in, and kissed me softly, slightly surprising me, but happily kissed back. David pulled away and giggled embarrassingly. I chuckled quietly as he burrowed his head into my chest.
"Daniel?" He asked. I responded with a small hum.
"You know how you asked me out yesterday?"
I nodded, worried about his answer.
"Well, I accept. I'll be your boyfriend." He said quietly. I chuckled happily and kissed his forehead.
"I'm glad," I whispered, "Just promise me one thing. Promise you won't hurt yourself in any way."
"I promise, Daniel."
