When I went out of the room after changing, I noticed Chance sitting on the couch on his phone. He was already dressed and looked ready to go out. I sat on the chair across from him and waited for his call to end.
"Oh, okay. Yes. No, it's fine. Could you just get my mother to call me before they go to sleep? Yes. Alright, thank you." After he hung up, he stoop up and sighed while running a hand through his hair. I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Jonathan's dad is in the hospital, and Mom got a replacement. I have to run my schedule with him later. Anyway, breakfast?" he said and pulled me up from where I sat.
"Weren't you going out with Nat and her cousin?" I said, hoping my tone didn't change. I wasn't going to be that clingy, possessive girlfriend.
"I cancelled. Unless you want to go, we could. But now we have breakfast to deal with. Where do you wanna go?"
"What about that seafood restaurant I saw nearby?" I said, and I knew my eyes lit up as I stared up at him hopefully and bit my lip.
"Hi. Yes, we're going out. The seafood restaurant near the hotel. We can walk. Okay, thank you," he said into his phone. I grinned and hugged him. He didn't like seafood much since he didn't think it had much taste to it, but I for one loved it.
"Sir? Miss?" I heard as the sliding door opened. I hastily let go of Chance and ran to the room to get my hat and sunglasses as I heard him chuckling. I cursed mentally and peeked out of the door to see Chance talking to the guard.
"Anna, let's go?" Chance said and held his hand out. I gave him a face and followed beside him. For some reason I didn't like the thought of anyone seeing us close together more than ever.
When we got to the restaurant, there was already a table reserved for us. There were a lot of people about since it was almost lunch time. I smelled a buttery scent mixed with smoke, and my stomach growled. It was an open restaurant made of different kinds of wood blending in with the environment. We were led up the staircase to the second floor where a round table to the side was ready for us. The wind was cool, and we both sat down, the guards sitting at the table beside us.
After ordering our food, he asked me what I wanted to do since I originally planned to stay in and be lazy. I shrugged, and he handed me a brochure out of nowhere. Diving, parasailing, kayaking, jet skiing, a helicopter ride, submarine riding and different spots were on it. As appealing as they all looked, I didn't have my usual thirst for adventure today.
"Maybe swimming a little later and going to sleep? You can go out if you want to," I said and shrugged. He frowned but didn't object. Just then, his phone rang. He answered it and smiled at me.
"Yeah, Mom," he said, emphasizing the 'Mom', "No, I don't think she checked her phone. She was probably still asleep. Wait, hold on."
"Nie, your mom called you earlier. Didn't you check your phone?" he said. I shrugged and shook my head.
"No, she didn't. Yeah. I'll tell her. She wants to stay in or swim a little later. I don't know. Yes. I'll try. Oh, about Jonathan's substitute. Hold on a sec, I'll just go down. No, we were just waiting for our food to arrive. Yeah." Chance looked at me and stood up then covered his phone.
"Excuse me, Nie. I need to clarify some things. I'll be back in a minute," he said and smiled apologetically. I gave him a thumbs up and leaned back in my chair as he left.
When he came back, he looked uneasy. I gave him a weird look, but he was saved by the food arriving. After we thanked the waiter, I raised an eyebrow at Chance. But apparently he was too focused on his soup to look up. I rolled my eyes in my mind and ate.
